Create a new analysis using Workforce Management – Worker Assignment Real Time that selects
the person number, display name and the manager name for active and suspended assignments.

Click the set operator on the right in the criteria tab.

Locate and select Workforce Management – Absence Real Time.

Change the set operator to Minus.

Double click the same three attributes from Worker. Add the status type code filter and also filter
where the number of absences is not null.

This report reports all active and suspended workers that do not have any absences. Of course, you
can add date filters to check for absences in a certain period and you can limit the query to certain
absence types.

Exercise 8 – Dashboard
Create a dashboard and save it into your folder (i.e. replace “Workshop Exercises” with your name.

Locate your saved reports in the catalog on the left and drag and drop them onto the dashboard.

The service anniversary dashboard prompt and analytic must both be dropped onto the dashboard,
you can not drop the dashboard.

Save and run the dashboard.

Exercise 9 – Deliver Dashboard via Home Page
Open the HCM UI and create a sandbox with Application Composer, Appearance, Structure, Page
Integration, Page Composer and Page Template Composer tools selected.

Click Create and Enter.

Use the Configuration > Page Integration tool to create a new page.

If you cannot see Page Integration, then open the Structure tool (in Configuration), use the
search on the right to locate it

Click on the link to open Page Integration and ensure that Show on Navigator and Show on
Springboard are both Yes.

Save and close and open Configuration > Page Integration.

In the Page Integration tool add a new page and give it a name, icon and role.

Save and close.

Open the Configuration > Structure tool. Search for the new page and move it to the location you
require by changing the group.

Log out and in again (possibly more than once) and ensure you are still in your sandbox.

Open your new page.

Edit the page.

Add your dashboard to your new page by clicking on Add Content and then navigating to your
dashboard via: Reports and Analytics > BPPresentationServer > Shared Folders > Custom > OTBI
Workshop > [Your Name]. Click Add to add your dashboard. Click Close. Drag the dashboard area
down so it fills the screen.

Click the spanner or wrench icon and uncheck Display Header in the Display Options tab so that it
hidden.

Click Close to view your dashboard.

Exercise 10 – Deliver an Analysis via an Infolet
Create a new analysis in Workforce Management – Workforce Trend Real Time subject area.

Add a line graph and remove the title and table from the compound view.

Edit the graph properties and set the width and height to 300 and 150.

Remove the graph title and axis titles by unchecking the boxes. Give the horizontal axis a name.

Open the vertical axis labels and hide the labels.

We now have a small and simple analytic which will fit inside a 2x1 Infolet.

The user will be able to hover over to get the values.

Save the analysis.

Open the application within your sandbox. Scroll down on your homepage and refresh the Analytics
(Infolets). Edit the page and then scroll down to the Infolets. Click on the configuration icon.

Press the up arrow key on your keyboard to get to the end of the list where you will see “Create
Infolet”. Note that any user can use this to configure their Infolets.

Define your Infolet.

Your new Infolet will appear at the bottom of the page. Click on “Add Content” to add your report.

Note that you can use “Edit Visibility” to limit the visibility of the Infolet to certain users or roles by
using an EL Expression.

Example EL:

Exercise 11 – Changing a delivered report
Locate the delivered OTBI report you want to change in the BI Catalog, for example Shared
Folders/Human Capital Management/Workforce Management/Transactional Analysis
Samples/Headcount Trend.

Archive the dashboard (or analysis).

Move to Shared Folders/Custom/OTBI Workshop/[Your Name] and unarchive the dashboard (or
OTBI analysis). Check that the links are still OK in the new location (i.e. drag and drop dashboard
objects if you see the yellow warning triangle) and that any drill reports are linked to the drills in the
new location. Make any others changes you need. Save and run the report.
