LAB#03

This document provides the objectives, outcomes, rubrics and equipment needed for a lab assignment on performing basic operations on signals in MATLAB. The objectives are to state the basic operations that can be performed on signals in MATLAB. The outcome is developing the ability to use modern engineering tools like MATLAB. Students will be scored on their use of MATLAB to accurately develop and interpret computer programs to solve problems, and on how well they plan and realize their experiment. The necessary equipment is a PC with MATLAB installed. The document then provides a brief theory section on basic signal operations and their classification.

Basic Operations
The transformation of one position of a signal into another position of a signal with respect to the time
plays an important role in signal processing. This positional transformation of signals with respect to
time axis is classified into three classes. Before modeling complex signals and systems, one must
understand the mathematical representation and physical effect of these operations on signals.
