COURSE OBJECTIVE

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:


●      To understand basic of wave propagation
●      To understand basics of communication systems: Analog Modulation, Frequency
Modulation and Phase Modulations
●      To design modulators and demodulators
●      To study noise and introduction to digital  modulation.

Double Sideband, Amplitude Modulation, Envelope Detection, Hilbert
Transform, Analytic Signal, Single- Sideband, Vestigial Sideband,
Frequency Mixing
 
Module-III: Angle Modulation- PM and FM 8
 
Frequency Modulation, Narrowband Signals, Bessel Functions, Carson's
Rule- Bandwidth, Demodulation, Phase Lock Loop-PLL, Capture Effect
 

Module-IV: Nyquist Sampling Theorem, Pulse Amplitude 8

An Introduction, Auto-correlation Function, Ergodic Processes, Power
Spectral Density, Gaussian Processes, White Gaussian Noise, Thermal

COURSE OUTCOMES

On completion of the course the student should be able to;

●      Understand the signal representation in frequency domain

●      Design the AM and FM system

●      Understand the representation of different noise                                          

●      Understand the implication of Sampling theorem
