Measuring and managing the employee job satisfaction e-commerce.


Introduction:
Employee job satisfaction in termed as the extent of liking or disliking their jobs.
Employee job satisfaction is done on one the main aspect of growth of the
organisation which helps increasing the productivity of the employees.
Satisfaction and work environment is the highest factor in pre-survey. First
factor from work satisfaction, employees have a high level of work satisfaction will
show a positive attitude towards work while employees who are dissatisfied with their
work will show a negative attitude towards their work, based pre-survey on this
variable the level of work satisfaction of employees is still low as seen in the
percentage of more than 50% saying they are not satisfied yet.

Methodology:
The research collected data using quantitative and qualitative methods. Employees
and HR professional from various sectors are surveyed, interviewed and focused
grouped .to understands optimal practices, extensive literature study was done.

 Primary data –the data was collected from the employee’s .by administrating
a structured questionnaire, observation method interview and discussion with
management.
 Secondary data – collection of secondary data, text book reference book,
journals, and internet had been used.

Key Results:
 An organization provides to employee growth, especially to employees new
position or project within the organization. Job satisfaction is linked to
improved performance.
 Work –Life Balance: Employees want flexible work arrangements and well
being.
 Organizational culture: positive workplace, inclusive culture, and effective
leadership boost retention. Respected employees remain longer.
 The level of happiness or contentment an employee feels for her job.
 Career development and development: - support the development skills
improvement, carrier progression greatly affects satisfaction .employee wants
company development.
 Compensation and benefits: competitive salary, performance based incentive
and robust benefits packages help top retain top workers.
 Fair compensation, motivation, and life satisfaction all help lead to job
satisfaction in the workplace.

Management Strategies:
 The process of recruiting the right e-commerce talent is not easy task, there are
several major challenges that companies face.
 In addition salary and benefits, a company culture plays a critical role in
recruitment process.
 The rapidly evolving nature of the ecommerce industry, requiring candidate to
have up to date knowledge and experience.
 Industry expertise also has an impact on company’s ability to keep up with the
competition, identify new industry trend, and stay ahead of the current
standard in e-commerce.
 To integrate the company with powerful online marketplace like Amazon,
Myntra, blinkit, etc.

1.1 Purpose of the Study


The goal of the” employee job satisfaction e-commerce it industry.” study is
figure out what makes employees stay with a company and comes up with good
ways to measure and manage retention rates. The goal of the study is to find out
how high employees churn affect an organization performance and success as a
whole. The success of any organization, particularly in the it industry. Dissatisfied
employees can lead to high turnover rates, job stress ultimately affecting the
product or services profitability and quality.

In particularly, the study is meant to do the following:

1. Increased profits: - If employees are safe and satisfied with their work
and responsibilities, it can lead to lower costs and high sales and a
robust bottom line. Happy employees are satisfied employees who are
willing to follow their workers and cooperate with the organization
during emergencies.

2. Job satisfaction is linked to improved performance: - The more satisfied


employees, the better performance, and the better organizational output.

3. Purpose management practices: - Based on what the study found ,it


suggests management practices that can help people keep their
jobs .some of these practice are improving the work atmosphere, giving
workers chances to learn and grow, and helping employees and bosses
get along well with each other.

4. Create a good workplace culture: - Knowing what makes employees


stay with a company helps create a good and welcoming workplace
culture. In turn, this makes employees more interested in their jobs,
happier with their jobs and more loyal to the company.

5. Employee satisfaction: - Customer satisfaction is a measurement that
determines how well a company’s product or services meet customer
expectations.

6. Improving employee performance: - Improving employee performance


requires more than just implementing simple solution. It requires an
intentional efforts and commitment to support employees daily.

7. High productivity:- Employees who have high job satisfaction tend to


achieve high productivity .higher productivity in employees is seen
what they are happy with their job and focus well on their tasks. A
single member’s high productivity in a team boosts the confidence of
others in the same manner.

8. Long term organizational success: - To have long- term organizational


success, it’s important to keep skilled and enthusiastic workers. The
goal of the study is to give companies the information and tools they
need to build a stable, skilled, and loyal staff.

Introduction:

The employee is an essential element in the process of implementing the


enterprises mission and vision, employees need a work environment that allows them
to work freely without problems that can stop reaching their full potential. Each
person has different criteria for measuring own job satisfaction but also payments,
working hours, schedule, benefits, stress level and flexibility. Employee job

satisfaction plays a critical role in success of any organization, particularly in the IT
industry. Dissatisfied can lead to high turnover rates, increased absenteeism, job
stress, burnout, and lack of commitment ultimately affecting the product or service’s
profitability and quality. Even though the virtually all organization is nowadays
technologically driven in modern business management, human resources are still
relevant and most desirable resources of the organization. One of the driven forces in
an employee’s satisfaction is professional development. Employees fell satisfied when
they gain what they have been hoping for from the job. This could include career
growth, a better salary, and a good working environment.

1.3 Overview of Theoretical Concepts

A number of theoretical ideas drawn from organizational behavior, human


resource management, and various job satisfaction theories will help in
understanding influences of job satisfaction. They help improve condition that
enhance satisfaction at workplace and understand what employees need to be
satisfied. The following is summary of some significant theoretical principles that
are often employed investigation of this nature:

The main theories that help understand job satisfaction:

 Maslow’s hierarchy of need – A performance management theory that


describes hoe employees is generally motivated to fulfill their needs in
order, starting with the most basic and increasing to higher-level needs.
The theory states that only once an employee fulfils one need, they can
move on to the next.
 Life satisfaction theory and psychology – Bottom-up theories hold that
we experience satisfaction in many domains of life, like work,
relationship, family and friends, personal development ,and health and
fitness.

 McClelland‘s human motivation theory –Theory states that every person
has one of three main driving motivators: the needs for achievements,
affiliation or power
 Herzberg’s two factor theory - Theory is a well known concept in the
field of human resource management and organizational behavior. This
concept puts forwards two factors that motivate employees: job
satisfaction and job dissatisfaction.
 ERG theory – ERG allows the order of the needs be different for different
people. The ERG theory acknowledges that if a higher level need remains
unfulfilled, the person may regress to lower level needs that appear easier
to satisfy.
 Motivation-hygiene theory- Motivation leads to satisfaction, while
hygiene reduces dissatisfaction.
Motivators, or satisfiers, improve job satisfaction factors that motivate
people are performance and achievement, recognition, job status,
responsibility, work, personal growth, and advanced opportunities.
Low salaries, poor working condition, poor workspace, unhealthy
or toxic relationships with the supervisor and colleagues and low
supervision quality at a workplace with high politics and rules can
act as dissatisfies. Unimproved condition will result in dissatisfied
employees.
 Job satisfaction theory: job characteristics model –
Hack man and Oldham designed the job characteristics model in
1976. Tips model helps employers enrich their employees’ according
to the model, the five characteristics – skill variety, task identity,
task significance, autonomy, and feedback – can be adjusted to
make work more engaging, motivating, and satisfying.
These psychological states lead to high internal motivation, high
quality work performance, high work job satisfaction, low
absenteeism and turnover.
 Job satisfaction theory – Disposition approach

Stew, bell and clause developed the dispositional theory. It focused
on the employee’s disposition. They pointed out that an individual
disposition affects their job satisfaction. It is because what one
employee perceives as a positive experience might not be conceived
the same way by another employee.

The name of the industry is E–commerce industry.

Introduction:

E-commerce industry job satisfaction has a big impact on how an employee performs
his job both elements have an impact on job safety and employee perception of it.A
satisfied employee devotes herself to work, performs order better ,cares for others and
for herself.
Employee satisfaction is a broad term used by the HR industry to describe how
satisfied or content employees are with elements like their jobs, their employee
experience, and the organization they work for. Thus, reducing costs, improving
efficiency, reducing time and distance e-commerce can become an important
development tool. One of the advantages of e-commerce is that it takes times and
efforts, facilitates access to Indian markets, promote economic growth, and improve
exports and production.

Mission:

At e-commerce industry, our purpose is statement: Making commerce better for
everyone. “That’s exactly what they do, allowing people to start, run grow their
easily. The mission is statement that explains its overall purpose of existing. For
example, an industry may have a mission of changing the world, helping the poor or
creating more sustainable practices within a certain industry. To improve employee
satisfaction, organizations should focus creating a supportive work environment,
providing competitive compensation and benefits, offering opportunities for growth
and development, promoting work-life balance, and fostering strong relationship
among employees and management.

I. E-Commerce is an online market - E-commerce is an online market
where trading of products and services or exchanging assets or
information from place to place put, individual to individual or
organization to the organization through an electric system likes the web.
II. Companies with a services industry – Provide specific products or
services that meet a need or are otherwise useful to customers.
III. Economic system – industry is a part of the economic system that deals
with the production and distribution of goods and services. It is a crucial
part of the economy and contributes significantly to the growth and
development of a country.
IV. Preventing turnover – Having enough people with the right skills is
crucial to delivering on the business plan and objectives. Satisfied
employees are less likely to leave and more likely to perform better.
V. Flexible work arrangements – One of the biggest reason employees
leaves their jobs is poor work in balance. Provide valuable perks to
employees like flexible schedules and work from home option to cater to
day to day contingencies or personal goal so they feel satisfied and
supported.
VI. Solve problems and fulfills needs.- Depending on what you sell, customer
will be better able to solve problem ,make more money, serve other

betters, enhance their self-esteem, improve their knowledge, or fulfill a
heart desires.
VII. Low financial cost- Low financial cost, but other pros include selling
internationally, retargeting customers, personalization of the buying
experience etc. these benefits of ecommerce will help you determine if
starting an online store is right for you.

Approach that is focused on the customer:


An approach called “customer focus” centers business decisions around
customer need. Business prioritizes serving their customers instead of
maximizing profits based on how those choices affect customer. This
long term approach foster trust and loyalty and can generate more
revenue. A company culture dedicated to enhancing customer satisfaction
and building strong customer relationships.
Your customer service team’s appearance, courtesy, friendliness,
Effective communication, positive attitude, and knowledge and understanding of the
company’s product and services are crucial to delivering customer-focused services.

E-commerce popular industry:


Yes, e-commerce is indeed a popular and growing industry. Over the past few
years, it is revolutionized the way people buy and sell products and services. With the
increasing use of the internet, more and more consumers are turned to online
platforms to make purchases conveniently from the comfort of their homes. A
significant increase in number of e-commerce businesses that cater to various
including retail, fashion, electroinics, food, in technology and logistics have further
facilitated the growth of e-commerce, making it easier for businesses to reach a wider
customer base and provide efficiency delivery services.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, job satisfaction in the e-commerce industry is influenced by a
variety of factors. While some employees may find fulfillment in the flexibility
and convenience of working in this industry, other may experience challenges
related tp work-life balance and high workload demands. Additionally, the level
of support and recognition from employers can greatly impact job satisfaction.
Opportunities for growth and development, as well as fair compensation, also
contribute to overall satisfaction in the e-commerce industry. Employees who
prioritize these factors and create a environment are more likely motivated
employees.
