Manual 165 2021 Updated

This lab report summarizes an experiment on vectors. The experiment measured the magnitude and direction of two forces acting on objects with different masses. It then used three methods to determine the magnitude and direction of the resultant force: 1) experimentally measuring the forces and calculating the resultant, 2) analytically calculating the components of the forces, and 3) graphically drawing the forces to scale on graph paper and measuring the resultant. The graphical method was found to be more accurate than the experimental method due to potential sources of error like measurement errors and instability in the experimental setup. The report concludes that the experiment demonstrated methods for determining the resultant of multiple forces graphically and analytically.

Question
Which method gives more accurate results, graphical or experimental method? Explain the
probable sources of error for each method

graphical method because it gives more accurate results.

- graphical method
1) personal error :- not using a suitable scale .
2) systematic error:- by using irregular measuring ruler to draw the arrow.
3) Random error :- unbiased estinates of measurment reading by the Observel

- experimental method
1) Personal error :- careless in reading or using an instrument.
2)
⑦°@⑦systematic error :- error in force table or not stable.
Conclusions
3) Random error :- may be the force table were put on un flat table.

Conclusions
we learned how to determined the resultant R of two forces or more by two
different techniques: graphically and analytically.
