1. GENERAL
1.1 Project Information
The purpose of this calculation note is to check the adequacy of Steel Pipe Rack
structure to sustain the loads that may occur during the construction & operation..
Definition of the checking procedure given hereafter includes the assumptions, the
method of analysis and the data to be used.
(1) Language
English shall be used.
(2) Units
SI unit shall be used. Nominal pipe size may be in inches.

Wind Load calculation refers to SNI-1727-2013, Velocity Pressure above grade is shown in
below :
qz = 0.613 x Kz x Kzt x Kd x V2
Where :
qz = Velocity pressure evaluated at height z above ground
Kz = Velocity pressure exposure coefficient
Kzt = Topographic factor = 1
Kd = Wind directional factor (Table 6-4) = 0.7
V = Basic Wind Speed = 144km/hr (40 m/sec)
I = Importance factor = 1 (Category II)
Design wind pressure for main wind force resisting system of buildings shall be determined by
the following equation :
p = qz x G x Cp
Where :
p = Wind Pressure (N/m2)
G = Gust effect factor = 0.85
Cf = Pressure coefficient (Table 6-21 ASCE 7-05, force coefficient Cf for other structure category)
