4. Quality Assurance vs Quality Control

Focus on process Focus on outputs

Achieving by improving production Achieving by sampling and checking
process (inspection)
Emphasises the customer Emphasizes required standard
Quality is built into the product Defect products are inspected out

Quality assurance is primarily concerned with the processes and procedures that
improve quality, such as training, documentation, monitoring, and audits. QC examines
the product to identify defects that remain after development. These issues are
discovered by QC professionals in a variety of ways, including software testing and beta
or canary testing.

5. QA vs. testing
The distinction between quality assurance and testing is that quality assurance
refers to activities designed to ensure that the project meets the expectations of
the stakeholders, whereas testing is a process of exploring a system to find
defects.
Quality assurance ensures that appropriate processes and procedures are in
place (and are followed) to ensure that a product or service is delivered to an
agreed-upon level of quality. Quality assurance is a much broader topic than
testing because it encompasses more than just the outputs of software delivery
(the end product), but also the inputs (how the product is developed) in order to
increase the likelihood of a positive outcome.
They do, however, share a common goal: to ensure the development and
delivery of a high-quality product to the customer. However, when properly
understood and implemented, they focus on different things and use different
methods and techniques to achieve the same goal.
