Re-Imaging Process

March 25th 2022

* Before you start the update you need to take note of your current computer hostname
and backup any files that you want saved. *

To find your hostname. This can be done by going into the system settings under the
“about” tab and it’s listed as “Device Name”.

STEP 1
Once you’ve written down your computer's hostname, completely shut down the system. Once
your system is completely shut down, double check that the Ethernet cable and power source
are plugged in.

Next, power on the laptop and immediately press F12. Continue to press F12 till the Startup
Menu appears. The screen should look something like images below

For HP

for Dells

Go into the Boot Menu and select IP4 PXE boot

Select IPV4 PXE Boot

Wait for all the testing to be done and let the boot load.

Once it’s finished loading and the computer brings you to the configuration manager screen.
This is where you will start to do the disk-part.

e your computer screen looks like the image above do the following steps.

Press F8 or FN F8 (a black command box should appear)

In the command box type the following commands in order (press enter after typing the
command)

1. DISKPART
2. Select disk 0
3. Clean
4. Convert gpt
5. Create partition efi size=300
6. Format quick fs=FAT32
7. Create partition msr size=128
8. Create partition primary
9. Assign letter=c
10. Format quick fs=NTFS

When you’ve completed the commands you may exit out the command box and select the next
button on the task wizard.

Select next again until the image starts loading.

STEP 4
Wait for the COMPUTER NAME SELECTOR box to appear and input your computer's
HOSTNAME that you wrote down earlier. Make sure that the hostname is entered Correctly and
matches the one you had previously or your computer will not work.
