Course Title: Environmental Science

Course This course is designed to stimulate thought and action about building a sustainable
Description: society based upon scientific principles and respect for nature and humanity. Successful
completion of the course should enable students to understand; the basic scientific
principles that govern the natural world, humanity’s impact on the planet, and potential
solutions to the environmental problems created by humans.

Prerequisite: Learned the most fundamental aspects of physics, chemistry, and biology and
relate these to the interaction between humans and the environment.
Course Outcome: 1. Manifest understanding of the economic, environment, social and political
issues and ways of addressing those appropriately to initiate change in work
place or community.
2. Exhibit and use the language of environmental science.
3. Exercise analytical skills using environmental information.
4. Learn how to develop meaningful questions related to environmental science.
