The team:
The EDW/BI Team provide data integration & BI solutions to the wider organisation. Our mission is to provide a
well-managed, reliable data platform and help Jisc colleagues exploit data assets to make better decisions. Across
the team we work with tools such as Postgres, AWS Redshift, Pentaho data integration, Jenkins, & Tableau.
As a data warehouse developer, you’ll be developing and enhancing the existing data warehouse solution within an
agile service delivery environment.
• A managed data platform integrating data from 100’s of data sources across the business which allows
those data assets to be used by the wider business.
• Dashboard design, prototyping, and development and supporting the business intelligence function within
Jisc.
• Support and mentoring colleagues wanting to self-serve their own data needs.
The role:
• Working on projects to integrate data from various internal systems and cloud platforms, working on all
stages on the project through analysis, planning, testing, and release phases.
• Work with ETL tools, databases, source control, and cloud services (e.g. AWS s3, Salesforce) to
implement new data flows.
• Help with maintenance activities on the EDW/BI architecture.
• Supporting the data warehouse when it has reached production through monitoring activities, data quality
investigations and third-line support activities.
• Working with our business analysts in requirements gathering activities and outlining EDW team’s
technology approach.
• Keeping system documentation up to date.
• Help maintain the reporting platform (Tableau) through activities such as publishing data sources,
amending dashboards, and investigating issues.
• Configuring unit tests (python), monitoring continuous integration server, and fixing identified errors.
• Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions and help support junior team members.
• Contributing to initiatives to improve data quality and data governance challenges across the business .
Highlighting data quality issues and issues where appropriate.

Advanced SQL skills.
Experience working with REST API
High level experience working with and cloud-based systems such as
data integration\ETL tool(s). Salesforce, o365.
