Welcome!
So good to see you here, and thank you for downloading this
masterclass! In this training, I’m going to show you exactly
how you can start earning over $100 an hour by becoming a
program-based niche teacher.

You might be wondering why I help teachers…


Well, here's my story in a nutshell

I spent 8 years working as an ESL teacher, teacher trainer, and


assistant director of studies. When the pandemic hit, I was left
broke, unemployed and with just 2 options: work for an online
ESL company and settle for the low pay and
underappreciation, or take things into my own hands and go
solo. 2 years later I can say with confidence I made the right
decision.

After getting past my initial skepticism and self-doubt, I was


able to take my hourly teaching rate from $20 all the way up
to $180. And the best part was, I didn't need a fancy website or
expensive adds to do it.

I used 3 simple tools available


to everyone:

- LinkedIn
- Zoom
- PowerPoint

Now, my mission is simple: To share what I've learned, and


inspire, motivate and equip ELT superheroes like you with the
mindset, skills and strategies you need to have more

8-STEPS TO AN AWESOME
ONLINE LESSON (1-3)

01 Break The Ice!


Encourage your learner to share details about their day or week. Shy learner?
Make them feel instantly at ease by revealing something funny or
embarrassing that happened to you earlier that day. No error correction here.
Keep things light - just encouragement!

02 Review
Review what you covered last time. Even better if you can gamify this by
turning it into a mini quiz. Working with a group? Add some competition.
Who can get the highest score? Lots of encouragement here again. Praise
your learners for the revision work they did between classes.

03 Introduce Today's Topic


Time to lower the learner's affective filter and remove any blocks or
negative feelings they have towards learning. Use images, short video
clips, quotes etc. to stimulate your students' curiosity and help them guess
what today's topic might be. Once they've got the topic, personalize it
using 1-2 discussion questions.

ONLINE LESSON (4-6)

04 Introduce Authentic Materials


Video clips, articles, blogs, online forums, news stories... you can build an
engaging lesson around almost anything. Check out the masterclass
recording for some examples of how an entire lesson can be built around
one 2-minute YouTube clip.

05 Error Correction
An essential part of any lesson. Share your screen with your students and
write a list of grammar & pronunciation mistakes you heard during the
class. It's important to give your learners time to identify and correct their
own mistakes before you do it for them.

06 Introduce Today's Homework


2 important things here:
1. Keep it relevant.
2. Keep your student's schedule in mind.
Dishing out a ton of homework to a student who has very little time to
complete it, could have a profoundly negative effect on their motivation and
their attitude towards your class.

ONLINE LESSON (7-8)

07 Question Time
It's important to leave enough time for your students to ask you questions
at the end. You never know, they might have a burning English-related
issue they've been too polite to ask you about until now.

08 Finish On A Positive Note


The feeling your student has at the end of the class is what they'll be left
with until they see you again. Let's make sure it's a good one! Praise your
student(s) for their good work and participation during today's class, and
remind them of how far they've come.

And there you go!
