Payroll Account FAQS

● Why do I need to open my personal bank account?

Your nominated personal bank account will be a temporary payroll account where your first salary/ies will be
wire transferred. Due to the current set-up with BPI and opening of payroll accounts, this is the action plan
that our Payroll Team arranged to avoid any issues during the first payout.

● What do I need to sign and submit to nominate my personal bank account? Where do I get the BPI payroll
letter of endorsement?

A Bank waiver is to be filled out to nominate a personal bank account which is available and to be submitted
during the time of your Job offer. A LETTER OF INSTRUCTION (LOI) once available will be provided to
you by the TA TEAM sent to your personal/TELUS email, which you should print and bring to the
Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branch of your choice to open your official payroll account,
deadline indicated on the email is payroll cut-off deadline. If and when you will not be able to meet
the deadline, 30 days upon letter receipt is given to open and submit the proof of BPI payroll.

● What if I do not have any personal bank accounts under my name? Is my previous payroll bank account
accepted especially if it is under BPI?

Only allowed if it is active and under your Name. Personal bank accounts should only be under the account
holder which is a TELUS Team member for security purposes. You would need to apply for your official
payroll account under TELUS within 30 days upon receipt of BPI letter of endorsement. You may download
Bank applications: CIMB, ING, Maybank are acceptable. Any other GCASH or Cash cards are not
acceptable.

● What if I will be able to open a TELUS BPI payroll account before the first payout date?

We will use the newly opened BPI payroll account if the deadline is met for salary crediting and disregard
the nominated personal bank accounts initially submitted. If the proof for BPI payroll account is already
submitted a few days before payout, it is better to check both nominated personal bank account and newly
opened BPI payroll account as submission may not make it to payroll’s cut-off.

● What do I need to submit if I have opened my TELUS BPI payroll account and Where do I submit the proof?

Proof of payroll account like a screenshot of the name and account number, deposit slip, or
screenshot of online BPI account should be emailed to the TA Team /LOI email sender

● When do I open my TELUS BPI payroll account?

Timeframe for LOI release is usually a few days before 1st payout and depending on the availability of the
letters. Schedule is to be determined and an email coming from TA (Talent Acquisition Team will be received
once the letters are available. BPI payroll account letter of instruction (LOI) will take time to be released by
our Payroll Team since this would require our Chief Financial Officer’s signature.

● What is the time frame for wire transfer?

Posting and crediting to your nominated personal bank account is 1-3 days from payout date since these
are interbank transfers. Same for personal BPI accounts used for temporary payroll.

● What if I found out that my personal bank account is already closed? And my salary is still not posted upon
the date of payout?

The Payroll Team needs to validate the wire transfers and will have to confirm the successful and
unsuccessful wire transfers from the bank 2-3 days from the date of payout/crediting. This will be
communicated to you.
