Weeks 10-17 Preparing A Case Study - The Long Cycle Process
What are the major difficulties faced by the 3rd grade teacher at LCabahug Elementary
School and how do these difficulties affect her teaching strategies and her students'
learning outcomes?
To gather data, I will conduct interviews with the 3rd grade teacher and some of her
students. I will also observe her teaching methods and evaluate her students'
performance. Through these data-gathering methods, I hope to gain a better
understanding of the challenges faced by the teacher and the impact these challenges
have on her teaching and her students' learning outcomes.
Based on the data gathered, some possible alternatives to address the difficulties faced
by the teacher and improve the learning outcomes of her students may include:
To determine which alternative is the best to choose, I will evaluate each one based on
the following criteria:
Feasibility: Can the alternative be implemented realistically within the constraints
of the school's resources and timeline?
Effectiveness: Will the alternative address the specific challenges faced by the
teacher and improve her students' learning outcomes?
Sustainability: Will the alternative be sustainable in the long run and continue to
benefit the teacher and her students?
Acceptability: Will the alternative be acceptable to the teacher, the students, and
other stakeholders involved in the decision-making process?
Based on the data and key decision criteria, the following analysis of the alternatives is
presented:
Based on our analysis, we recommend that LCabahug Elementary School provide the
3rd grade teacher with professional development opportunities focused on effective
communication and classroom management strategies. The school could partner with
external organizations to offer training and resources tailored to the teacher's needs and
the needs of the students she serves. Additionally, the school should explore ways to
enhance access to resources and foster greater collaboration between teachers,
parents, and other stakeholders to create a more supportive and inclusive learning
environment. By taking these steps, LCabahug Elementary School can support its
teachers and students in achieving their full potential. Finally, additional resources and
support should be provided to struggling students. By implementing these alternatives,
the teacher's challenges can be addressed.
