Key Responsibilities: For a CNC Milling Machine Operator (Vertical Milling Machine)
1. Machine Setup: Prepare and set up the CNC milling machine by loading the appropriate
tools, fixtures, and work pieces. Ensure the machine is correctly calibrated and programmed
with the required toolpaths.
2. CNC Programming: Input and edit CNC codes using Fanuc programming language or CAM
software to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
3. Machine Operation: Operate the Fanuc CNC milling machine to initiate the machining
process. Monitor the operation closely, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain
proper cutting parameters, feeds, and speeds.
4. Quality Control: Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
(calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to ensure parts meet required tolerances and quality
standards.
5. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the machining
process, such as tool wear, programming errors, or machine malfunctions. Also, resolve the
press tool issue and fixture issues if related to quality of parts.
6. Tool Maintenance: Keep track of tool usage and perform routine maintenance tasks,
including tool changes, tool offset adjustments, and lubrication of machine components.
7. Work piece Handling: Safely load and unload work pieces from the CNC milling machine,
following proper material handling procedures.
8. Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to all safety guidelines and best practices to prevent accidents
and injuries. Keep the work area clean and organized.
9. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production data, machine maintenance, and
any incidents or discrepancies encountered during the machining process.
10. Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team
members to coordinate workflow, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the timely completion of
production orders.
