Chyron experience, we welcome you to the Chyron family! Communicating with
the world through live production is important work, and we are proud to partner
with you and help you bring rich, immersive experiences to your viewers.
Founded in 1966, Chyron pioneered broadcast titling and graphics systems. With a strong
foundation built on over 50 years of innovation and efficiency, the name Chyron is synonymous
with broadcast graphics. We developed the character generator and defined the category. Even
today, text and graphics broadcast over live video is referred to as a “chyron,” whether it is
CAMIO (MOS/newsroom integration), VSAR (virtual set/augmented reality based on Unreal ®),
Paint (illustrated replay) VP (virtual placement) and SHOUT (social media curation).
Chyron products are increasingly deployed to empower OTA & OTT workflows, bringing great
content to audiences and sports fans in the arena, at home, or on the go.

Chapter 1: Welcome to PRIME Edge!
Engage Your Audience!
PRIME Edge is Chyron’s web-based graphics rendering application that leverages the powerful
graphic design capabilities of the PRIME Live Platform. PRIME Edge makes it easy for

mobile devices and tablets. PRIME Edge has the ability to create interactive overlays that
enable the audience to control which content they want to view at any point during the
broadcast.
6. Insert PRIME Edge widget into web pages and/or mobile applications.
Minimum Requirements
PRIME v4.2.1
Web Browsers:
● Apple iOS: 13
● Android: 4.4.4

IMPORTANT: Not all properties of the objects listed are supported. However, we are
constantly adding more supported objects properties and new objects to this list.
Please contact your Chyron representative for the most up-to-date list.
Data Binding
PRIME Designer supports use of PRIME’s Data Object. The supported data formats are as
follows:
● JSON
● XML
● Web
● Excel
○ .xlsx
○ .xls
● Text
○ .txt
○ .csv
NOTE: When binding to JSON and Web sources from a server, PRIME Edge fetches
new data automatically once every minute.
Keyframe Interpolation
PRIME Edge supports Linear, Ease and Smooth keyframe interpolation types. PRIME Edge
automatically converts Hold and Bezier interpolation types to Linear during the upload
process.
Keyframe Triggers
PRIME Edge supports Keyframe triggers. Users can trigger Timeline actions, Conditions and
other supported object events from Keyframe triggers.
12 | Chyron.com
Events
PRIME Edge supports PRIME’s Event-based architecture for select scene elements. However,
similarly to supported properties, PRIME Edge does not support all Event types. Please
contact your Chyron representative for a complete list of supported Events.
2. Play the scene in the output channel and open to the PRIME Engine desktop
window located on the Windows taskbar.
Any touch points added to the scene can be interacted with in this window. This is a
good starting point to ensure that the touch functionality behaves as expected before
uploading the scene.
