RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CELL

About R&D Cell:

Research is the back bone of any academic institution. Research and Development is very
essential for innovative experimentation of the knowledge acquired from the books. The
growth of the academic institution is measured by the research oriented faculties that are
working in the institution. As researchers, they need to understand the past and recent
developments in their subject areas. Many high ranking Universities / Institutions in the
world (Berkely, MIT, Cornell, Stanford, Princeton etc.) and India (IITs, IISc, IIITs, NITs
etc.) exhibit a very high correlation between quality teaching and Research &
Development(R&D) activities. Even among the affiliated colleges, those which have Ph.D.
faculty on their rolls and are engaged in R & D activities are regarded as good colleges.

Priyadarshini Institute of Science and Technology for Women(PRIW) recognized the

importance of Research & Development in the vertical growth of the institution and
established the R&D cell to focus on the scientific and industrial research in the various
disciplines of Engineering. PRIW R&D cell is an integral part of the academic activities and
is one of the wings of the Institute which facilitates, channelizes, records, regulates all the
academic, sponsored, collaborative research projects and consultancy works in the Institute.
In a world increasingly propelled by technology, academic research forms the mainspring of
a nation’s economic growth. PRIW R&D cell aspires to transform the lives of young budding
engineers, research scholars and faculty through their innovative ideas to contribute for
research at academic level. PRIW R&D cell is closely working with core industries to train
the students in this direction and producing ready to be employed engineers. The PRIW R&D
cell is a nominated committee consisting of Professors from various programs of
Engineering. The organizational structure consists of Advisor, Chairman, Dean and
Coordinators for facilitating the routine functioning of the cell.
