PROCESSIONAL
LIGHTING OF ALTAR CANDLES
CALL TO WORSHIP
Liturgist: God has called us together for this time of worship. God is listening to
our thoughts and God inclines an ear to us and hears us.
People: God knows us better than we know ourselves.
Liturgist: Let us open our hearts to the One who gives us life. Let us set our
faith and hope in God.
People: In one another’s presence, we renew our vows. Together we offer our
thanksgiving sacrifice.
Liturgist: God’s promises to us are ancient and ever new. God is with us here
and on all the roads we travel.
ALL: Together we lift our voices in songs of praise. Together we recognize we
are precious in God’s sight.
INVOCATION In unison
Wondrous God, present with us when we do not know it, valuing us when we do not
care for ourselves, planting in us the seed of Your word even when the soil of our
hearts is hard and unyielding, open our eyes to recognize You here. May we sense
Your presence next to us. May we hear Your voice. May we feel Your touch. May we
see You in one another and in the beauty all around us. May Your reality emerge deep
inside each life, transforming our thoughts and deeds and our relationship with one
another. Amen.
HYMN OF PRAISE
“I SING THE MIGHTY POWER OF GOD”
CALL TO CONFESSION
Liturgist: Peter preached: “Save yourselves from this crooked generation. Repent… so
your sins may be forgiven.” We participate in our society’s alienation from God. We
have joined the “me” generation in putting our own interests before all else.
We have much to confess before we can claim the wholeness God offers.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE
Minister: The promise of forgiveness is for us and for our children, for everyone whom
God calls. The gift of the Holy Spirit is ours to receive. Lift up the cup of salvation every
day, and call on God’s name. Give thanks for the words and deeds of Jesus, who
revealed God’s love for us and enlists us as disciples and apostles.

CHURCH OUTING
The venue of our church outing on May 6 is still being finalized as the one we have
earlier announced informed us that they cannot accommodate more than 50 persons.
Please wait for further advice on this.
BOOK LAUNCH
Bishop's third book was successfully released last Friday, May 5, in front of a sizable
audience. The occasion was marked by outstanding reviews of a few church leaders
and theologians. A small group of invited singers created a lovely musical atmosphere,
that made the event even more amiable.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
HYMN OF TRANSITION
“Break Thou the Bread of Life”
CALL TO OFFERING
Liturgist: Our offerings are a sacrifice of thanksgiving in the spirit of Jesus, who gave
everything, even life itself, to proclaim God’s inclusive love.
ALL: God calls all people to become children of the promise, and to this end we
dedicate our gifts.
*DOXOLOGY
*OFFERING PRAYER In unison
Thank You, God, for the privilege of joining with Christ in the proclamation of Your love
for all people. May the ministries we support serve to unite people across all
differences, building up the body of Christ and reaching out to the world with healing
energy. Bless these gifts and all who give in any way to make Your love known. Amen.
*HYMN OF DEDICATION
“HE LEADETH ME”
Refrain:
He leadeth me, he leadeth me; by his own hand he leadeth me:
his faithful follower I would be, for by his hand he leadeth me.
2 Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom, sometimes where Eden's flowers bloom,
by waters calm, o'er troubled sea, still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me. Refrain
3 Lord, I would clasp thy hand in mine, nor ever murmur nor repine;
content, whatever lot I see, since 'tis my God that leadeth me. Refrain
4 And when my task on earth is done, when, by thy grace, the victory's won,
e'en death's cold wave I will not flee, since God through Jordan leadeth me. Refrain
RESPONSE IN SONG
