This assignment is marked out of 100 and is worth 25% of the total course score. The pass
mark for this assessment is 40. It is an individual assignment. This assignment mainly
assesses Learning Outcome 2.
1. Introduction: Provide a brief introduction to the MNE. Indicate the aim of the script.
2. Define the sustainability issue. The sustainability issue can be in the home country or a
host country of the MNE. Please focus on ONE sustainability issue in ONE country
(either the home or a host country). Describe the national context of the home or host
country and, if relevant, how the sustainability issue is related to or influenced by the
national context. You can indicate how solving or alleviating the sustainability issue can
address which UN SDG(s).
3. Identify and evaluate which concrete CSR actions the MNE as taken to tackle the above-
mentioned sustainability issue. Provide evidence from corporate website or corporate
publications (for example, annual reports, annual sustainability reports, and corporate
social responsibility reports) of the MNE.

4. Evaluate the outcome and impacts of the CSR actions. Have the extant CSR actions fully
resolved or partially alleviated the sustainability issue? Provide evidence from corporate
website or corporate publications of the MNE and/or from the media reports.
5. Conclusion: Summarize your analysis, including potential strengths and weaknesses that
you have identified in the CSR approach of the MNE. If you believe that the extant CSR
actions are severely inefficient to tackle the sustainability issue, how would you
recommend the MNE to implement its CSR program?
E. Submission Procedure
1. Submission of soft copy
Students should upload a soft copy of the assignment to the OLE of the course by 5:00
pm on the submission due date. Files uploaded to the OLE should be prepared in
Microsoft Word. Please refer to the quick start guide for submission of assignments to
Turnitin.
You do not have to submit a hard copy of your assignment. If circumstances arise
making it necessary to adjust the arrangement, further announcement will be made as
soon as possible.
2. 10% of the marks awarded to the assignment will be deducted for each calendar day
overdue until the soft copy of the assignment is submitted.
3. The submitted assignment should be covered with the Assignment Cover Sheet.
F. Plagiarism
The University takes academic honesty very seriously and all assignments will undergo
plagiarism check. Plagiarism involves copying from another source without
acknowledgement. Students should make sure all the sources they used in the assignment
are properly referenced. Even if there is proper referencing, students should not make
excessive use of the works composed by other people.
