Bridge Controller (BRC300)

Highlights
The Harmony Bridge Controller (BRC300) is a high-performance, high-capacity process controller.
It is designed to interface with Harmony I/O and S800 I/O in the ABB Symphony ™ Enterprise
Management and Control System. The BRC300 is fully compatible with the INFI 90 ® OPEN
system in functionality, communications, and packaging.

The BRC300 collects process I/O, performs control algorithms and outputs control signals to
process level devices. It also imports and exports process data from and to other controllers or
other system nodes, and accepts control commands from operators and computers connected to
the network. This controller communicates on the Controlway with other Harmony rack
controllers on a peer-to-peer basis. The BRC300 can be used in an one-for-one redundancy
configuration for unparalleled reliability and system availability. The BRC300 communicates with
other system nodes on the control network (Cnet) via the Harmony rack communication modules.

Multiple control languages are supported in the BRC300, including function codes and C. The
superior processing power and large capacity of the BRC300 enable it to meet the needs of a wide
range of requirements from data acquisition to the most complex process management and con-
trol strategies.
