ABSTRACT

This report describes the network work on the project Predictive Maintenance. Preventive
maintenance procedures are scheduled actions carried out to either minimize the chance
of a failure or to improve the reliability of the system. In many cases, the failure rate is
increasing with time, so preventive maintenance restores the system to a state with a lower
failure rate. Maintenance requires monitoring the operation of a machine, according to
certain parameters (current and angular velocity). The results of these controls are used to
plan industrial maintenance operations. The advancement in the industry facilitating
manufacturing of products is leading to use of sensors to a great extent. Utilization of
manufacturing products without keeping the frequent maintenance might lead to a huge
production loss. With the advancements, predictive maintenance is benefited with real-
time detection and prediction about future failures with the help of Artificial Intelligence
and Machine Learning. In the past years, there is an increase in interest regarding
prediction. In this paper, a survey is presented on real- time ML (Edge Impulse) based
predictive maintenance in the industry.
