S - Change of X - Axis - Offset - Parameters

The document provides instructions for offsetting the X axis measuring system on a machine tool by adjusting the offsets for the absolute motor measuring system and linear scale to keep their relationship constant. It describes finding and adjusting the relevant parameter values, then performing a new machine start and scale synchronization to validate the changes.

Offset setting for X axis measuring system_840Dsl

OPERATE
(Setting X0 to the table center)

Press softkey: Menu select - Setup – Mach. data - Axis MD

On the vertical menu select X-axis!!!

For X axis exist two measuring systems:
-absolute motor measuring system (servo motor measuring system)
-linear scale (after referencing is this measuring system master)
You need to change both measuring systems offsets to keep their relationship
defined via parameter 36500
X After change of values you press soft key
“Set MD to active” and than warm restart
via soft key
“NCK Reset” for parameters activation
Than you have to do new start machine,
scale synchronization and you try go to the
machine center to evaluate the X position.

What value you add to one of two measuring systems, the same value you will
subtract from the second measuring system to keep their difference constant!!!
Which direction is for the motor to plus for the linear scale is to minus.

Find parameters:
34090[0] absolute motor measuring system offset
34090[1] linear scale offset
Old values you write down just to be sure!!!!!!

Example: (notice-values here are not the same like actual values on your machine)
You need move support about 0.1mm to right
34090[0] $MA_REFP_MOVE_DIST_CORR = 21475.815 + 0.1=
34090[1] $MA_REFP_MOVE_DIST_CORR = 799.152 - 0.1=

Or to other direction - to left

34090[0] $MA_REFP_MOVE_DIST_CORR = 21475.815 - 0.1=

34090[1] $MA_REFP_MOVE_DIST_CORR = 799.152 + 0.1=
Info:

Notice:
If value in 34090[1] be increased than axis move to minus direction!!
After the setting of measuring systems has to be each other max difference for both
measuring systems less than 0.1mm (0.0039inch) - this default tolerance value is
defined in MD 36500 for scale synchronization (referencing of scale).
If is not in the range you can adjust only one measuring system offset parameter to
approximately equal both measuring systems.

Or you can increase the tolerance value in parameter MD36500 $MA_ENC_CHANGE_TOL

Way to this menu: Diagnostic- I>I –Axis diag.- Service axis – X axis
