Sasha – My Pet Dog

Meet my lovely pet dog, Sasha. My father adopted her when she was a little baby.
She came in like a blessing for our family. She belongs to the breed of Labrador. Sasha
is pure coal black. She comes in as a puppy with her cute little paws and eyes. Sasha is
medium-sized. We couldn’t stop gushing over this beauty. To get maximum time to play with
Sasha, my siblings often fight each other.
As Sasha grows up, she learns various tricks. We train her to follow our instructions. She
even learns a few tricks. We love showing her off to our friends and relatives. I always take
Sasha out as she loves taking a walk on the road.
My siblings and I take on the responsibility of keeping Sasha clean. Every week, we take
turns to bathe and brush her nicely. Sasha shows her gratitude by wagging her short tail in
excitement. Sasha has been with us through ups and downs. We will forever be indebted to her
for her loyalty.
Little did we know that our lives would change forever after her entrance.

Last month my friends and I spent an amazing day at an orphanage. We met many
people there. The most important of all, we had the pleasure to meet, play and interact with
the strongest of human beings – the children.

We began our visit by observing the children’s activities. They did many things
independently. They prepared meals, cleaned their rooms, washed the dishes and clothes by
themselves. As my friends and I helped the children washing clothes, they were shocked
looking at us. The host told us that they had never seen white people washing clothes
before!

The best impression of the program was being able to meet such incredible people
and lifelong friends. As a solo traveler, I really learned who I am and how to interact and
understand people. I felt that the program enabled me to behave more as locals. I was also
able to explore their life. I had such an amazing moment and I can’t wait to explore the world

Once upon a younger year
When all our shadows disappeared
The animals inside came out to play
Went face to face with all our fears
Learned our lessons through the tears
Made memories we knew would never fade

One day my father—he told me

"Son, don't let it slip away"
He took me in his arms, I heard him say

"When you get older

Your wild heart will live for younger days
Think of me if ever you're afraid"

He said, "One day you'll leave this world behind

So, live a life you will remember"
My father told me when I was just a child
"These are the nights that never die"
My father told me

"When thunder clouds start pouring down

Light a fire they can't put out
Carve your name into those shining stars"
He said, "Go venture far beyond the shores
Don't forsake this life of yours
I'll guide you home no matter where you are"

Once upon a time, there was a lion that grew so old. He could not kill any prey for his
food. So, he said to himself, ―I must do something to get food or I will die of starvation.‖
He kept thinking and thinking. Finally, an idea clicked him. He decided to lie down in
the cave pretending to be ill. Whoever coming to inquire about his health, he would become
his prey. The old lion put his wicked plan into practice and it started working. Many of his
well-wishers got killed. But evil is short lived.
One day, a fox came to visit the lion. As foxes are clever by nature, the fox stood at
the mouth of the cave and looked about. His sixth sense worked. He came to know the
reality. So, he called out to the lion from outside. ―How are you, Sir?‖
The lion replied, ―I am not feeling well at all. But why don’t you come inside?‖
The fox replied, ―I would love to come in, Sir! But I see all footprints going to your
cave and none coming out. So, I would be foolish enough to come in.‖
Saying so, the fox went to alert the other animals.

Crocodiles are lizard-like animals. They are the largest living reptiles and related to
alligators.
Crocodiles are found in parts of Asia, Africa, Australia, and America. Most live in
swamps, lakes, and rivers in hot and warm regions. Some live in the ocean. Although
they spend most of their time in water, they also travel on land.
Crocodiles vary greatly in size. The dwarf crocodile measures only 1.8 meters in
length. On the other hand, the estuarine crocodile may grow to more than 6 meters.
Crocodiles’ tough skin are composed of many large plates and scales. They have
narrow, pointed, v-shaped snouts. Many large teeth stick out of both the top and
bottom jaw of a crocodile’s closed mouth.
