After that it will lead to Calibration screen. In Calibration screen it will ask you to select
channel 1 (press key “CH1” ) or channel 2 (press key “CH2” ) otherwise skip
After successful Calibration OR Exiting Calibration mode Airgauge lead to Home screen which
run default in Airguage.
Home screen shows characteristics name (like C1 and C2 ) , It’s measuring UNIT (like mm or
inch) and the channel selected for respective characteristics(like A, B, A+B, A-B ).
There are two rows of 8 7-segment in each rows . as shown bellow for Channel 1 and
Channel 2.
This mode is used to configure different parameters for each job measurement (25 programs
each for one job) to user’s need and requirement. This is a special mode and is generally
intended to use by person adverse to AIRGAUGE and its manual.
Airgauge will enter into this mode after pressing “PROG” key when Airgauge
showing Home screen. After it will show program menu screen. Here you can access different
program menus available under program menu. Use “UP” key and “DOWN”
key from accessing different options.

In “char-1” Program menu Airgauge ask for password entry So Here Sequentially press key as
mentioned ahead “F1”, “F2”, “F3”, “CAL” AND “ENT”.
Then for accessing different sub option within the parameter menu use “UP” OR
decrementing value on segment. When you are at 7th digit position and press “LEFT”
key for moving 8th position it is blank.
This is Digit Sign position. Press “UP” or “DOWN” key for minus sign (positive
sign is not shown on display) When there is no any sign present then it will indicate positive
*Note : Total 25 programs you can set for 25 no. of different jobs.
Changes to these menus are applicable for only that job you have
selected. For every new job you have to set new parameters in a new
program.
Fanuc interface:
Fanuc Interface is used for communication of Airgauge with Fanuc
controller for offset adjustment. Port Selects Fanuc to send data to the Serial
Port.
When asked the main offset value is send to the Fanuc controller as
per the protocol, Baud rate- 9600, 8 bit, Stop bit=1, parity=none.
Offset value is calculated by taking average of 20 values
(settable Max 20).
If the average of 20 values is greater than control limits UCL or LCL
for consecutive 7 times (settable Max20) then the new offset is calculated &
added to the main offset value. This main offset is then saved in memory &
send to the Fanuc controller when asked to send. If offset value calculated is
more than wear limit then change tool alarm is showed & this offset value is
not added in the main offset value. Average count & consecutive count is
cleared.
If values for averaging taken is less than 20, then this average values
are not taken for checking with control limit.
Reset function is used to clear main offset value, Average count,
consecutive count, Also main offset value=0 is saved in memory.
After calibration or preset or at power ON, Reset, or change in
program, Average count=0, Consecutive Count=0, Average=0.
Array is moving average array Ie. Last In First Out.
Wear limit:- If the Offset value is greater than the wear limit then show
the “Change Tool “ alarm & don’t take the offset value in the calculation.
For setting of Max Average Count, Max Consecutive count, Wear
limit & Reset press key & then key. Then select respective function
& by Key. Press key to modify. Press key to quit.
For selection of Fanuc Function for serial port press key. Then
Press key till ‘port’ is not coming. Then press key. Now press
Key to select the ‘Fanuc’ Function.
15.1. Reset:- Fanuc Offset resets to 0.0. Reset function is used to clear main
offset value, Average count, consecutive count, Also main offset value=0 is
saved in memory.
Press key to toggle the mode
Press key to enter in reset then it will ask 'YES' to confirm. Press
Press key to enter in the mode & will display the count,

cut off selections. Press key to toggle & Press key to select.
When Fanuc sends “LS” Command to Airguage then after this delay time data
will be send to Fanuc.
1 Count = 0.1 sec
This mode is a useful mode and is required when the system malfunctions and does
not function correctly. Use of this function is cautioned as this will erase all the settings and
corrections applied.
To factory set Airguage UNIT directly switch off the Airguage and keep pressing “CAL”
key & then Power ON the Airgauge.
This will erase correction factor, probe center, all the data in memory, ovality measured &
center offset calculated.
This process will take some time; wait up to Program No. 25 After that Airgauge will enter
in calibration mode, if you want to enter in Home Position, then press “ESC” key.
I] CALLIBRATION MODE :
At power ON, Airgauge will enter into calibration mode or you can press “CAL” key
to enter in this mode. After Airgauge entered in calibration mode, You first select Channel No.,
( press “CH1” key for channel-1 or press “CH2” key for channel-2). Display shows
Insert Higher Master message, after inserting press “ENT” key. Then display shows
Insert Lower Master message, then press “ENT” key. Then displays Done & goes
back to calibration window.
Press “UP” key to enter into memory management Mode. Here you can see the stored
values in the memory. You can send the value to the RS232 (Serial port). You can delete the
stored jobs.

(See Parameter No. 20 to 28)
• If reading is in the auto-sense range then after auto-sense time the MAX value will
reset to current job value automatically.
• Then rotate the job to check MAX value. MAX reading is calculated automatically &
displayed.
C) MIN :
• Start measurement, after inserting plug in job current reading is shown.
(See Parameter No. 20 to 28)

• SP mode will check for value entered, if this value is greater than size tolerance (i.e.
HL & LL) then it will be in reject mode.
• SP mode will check for Ovality: If Ovality is greater than Ovality Tolerance, then also it
will enter in Reject mode.
• If job is removed & again inserted & if its value is in the settable range, then Ovality
measurement will reset.
• Checking of value is continuous in SP mode.
sensor value is shown in percentage (i.e. Air Pressure value in percentage). This is used to
adjust the probe.
Press “LEFT” key, It will lead to selection of channel 1 or channel 2.
For selecting channel-1 press “CH-1” key or press “CH-2” for channel-2.
EXAMPLE :
OR
Press “CH1” or “CH2” key to activate preset mode (i.e offset of center master) for
channel-1 or channel-2 respectively. Here it will show you current center master value for
respective channel. In this mode you can enter center master value by pressing “LEFT”
or “UP” key. Then center offset value will be calculated internally by the software using
bellow formula
Otherwise press “F3” or “ENT” key to calculate center master offset value using
above formula just difference is that here it will take currently stored Center master value and
exit this mode.
Connect LVDT probe to the Airguage & probe stand as shown in below fig.
For length measurement with LVDT do the following settings in Airguage.
1) Set the Nominal value (i.e. Diameter setting ) Parameter No.1:- e.g. 20.000
2) Set the higher tolerance limit (i.e. HL) Parameter No.2:- e.g. 20.0100
3) Set the lower tolerance limit (i.e. LL) Parameter No.3:- e.g. 19.9900
4) Set the higher master (i.e. HM) Parameter No.4:- e.g. 1.0000
5) Set the lower master (i.e. LM) Parameter No.5:- e.g. 0.0000
Above HM & LM settings for 1mm measuring range, set these parameters as per required
range.
Select SIM mode, for calibration by only one master i.e. HM (Higher Master).
[You can select NOR mode, for calibration by two masters i.e. HM & LM (Higher Master &
Lower Master).]
Segment display shows Actual probe value (when probe not pressed).
3) Place the Higher Master of 1.000 value & press key to do the calibration.
