1. What is a type certificate (TC) ?


A. A document issued by the authority for type design

Type Certificate (TC). A document issued by a DGCA to define the design of an aircraft type
and to certify that this design meets the appropriate airworthiness requirements.

2. Which Certificate issued by the authority for class 1 product ?

C. Supplemental type certificate (STC)
D. PMA

A Class I product is a complete aircraft, aircraft engine, or propeller, which –

(i) Has been type certificated in accordance with this Decree and for which DGCA Approved
Specifications or type certificate data sheets have been issued; or

(ii) Is identical to a type certificated product specified in paragraph(b)(1)(i) of this section in all
respects except as is otherwise acceptable to the civil aviation authority of the importing

A Class II product is a major component of a Class I product(e.g., wings, fuselages, empennage


assemblies, landing gears, power transmissions, control surfaces, etc), the failure of which
would jeopardize the safety of a Class I product; or any part, material, or appliance, approved
and manufactured under the TSO system in the "C" series. (3)

A Class III product is any part or component which is not a Class I or Class II product and
includes standard parts.

(a) Except as provided in paragraph (b) and (c) of this appendix, each person performing a
major repair or major alteration shall−
(1) Execute DGCA Form 43-337 at least in duplicate;
(2) Give a signed copy of that form to the aircraft owner; and
(3) Forward a copy of that form to the appropriate DGCA Office within 48 hours after the
aircraft, airframe, aircraft engine, propeller, or appliance is approved for return to service

1)The height of the identification marks on the wings shall be at least 50 centimeters (20
inches).

2) The marks on the fuselage (or equivalent structure) or vertical tail surfaces shall be as large
as practicable, but shall not interfere with the visible outlines of the fuselage (or equivalent
structure ) and shall leave at least a margin of 5 centimeters (2 inches) along each edge of any
vertical tail surface.

3) The height of marks on the fuselage or vertical tail surfaces shall be at least 30 centimeters
(12 inches).

A certificate or rating issued to :
(1) The AMO located in the Republic of Indonesia shall remain in force for such period as
determined by the DGCA but shall not exceed one (1) year from the date of issue, unless the
AMO surrenders the certificate or the DGCA suspends or revokes it.
(2) The AMO located outside the Republic of Indonesia shall remain in force for such period as
determined by the DGCA but shall not exceed 2 (two) year from the date of issue, unless the
AMO surrenders the certificate or the DGCA suspends or revokes it

(b)The holder of an aircraft maintenance engineer license may perform maintenance,


preventive maintenance, and alterations as provide in part 65.
(c) A person working under the supervision of a holder of an aircraft maintenance engineer
license may perform the maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations that his
supervisor is authorized to perform, if the supervisor personally observes the work being
done to the extent necessary to ensure that it is being done properly and if the supervisor is
readily available, in person, for consultation. However, this paragraph does not authorize the
performance of any inspection required by part 91 or any inspection performed after a major
repair or alteration.
(d) The holder of an approved maintenance organization certificate may perform
maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations as provided in part 145. (e) The holder
of an air operator certificate issued under part 121 or 135, may perform maintenance,
preventive maintenance, and alterations as provided in part 121 or 135.

43.7 Persons authorized to approve aircraft, airframes, aircraft engines, propellers,


appliances, or component parts for return to service after maintenance, preventive
maintenance, rebuilding, or alteration.
(a) Except as provided in this section, no person, other than the DGCA, may approve an
aircraft, airframe, aircraft engine, propeller, appliance, or component part for return to
service after it has undergone maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding, or
alteration.
(b) The holder of an aircraft maintenance engineer license may approve an aircraft, airframe,
aircraft engine, propeller, appliance, or component part for return to service as provided in
part 65.
(c) The holder of an approved maintenance organization certificate may approve an aircraft,
airframe, aircraft engine, propeller, appliance, or component part for return to service as
provided in part 145.
(d) A manufacturer may approve for return to service any aircraft, airframe, aircraft engine,
propeller, appliance, or component part which that manufacturer has worked on under
section 43.3
(e). However, except for minor alterations, the work must have been done in accordance with
technical data approved by the DGCA.
(f) The holder of an air operator certificate issued under part 121 or 135, may approve an
aircraft, airframe, aircraft engine, propeller, appliance, or component part for return to
service as provided in part 121 or 135 as applicable.

11. What is the time limit for the AMO to report to the DGCA if any failure during maintenance ?
A. Within 72 hours
B. Within 96 hours
C. Within 82 hours
D. Within 69 hours

A certificated AMO must report to the DGCA within 96 hours after it discovers any failure,
malfunction, or defect of an article. The report must be in a format acceptable to the DGCA.
