PROGRESSIVISM
I used progressivism as the basis for planning and designing my activities. This
philosophy places more emphasis on the individuality of students and helping them to realize
their potential. A student-centered classroom may be less concerned about past teaching
practices and drilling academics, and more focused on training students for success in an ever-
changing world. Students and teachers typically decide together what should be learned, as well
as how this can best be achieved.
QUARTER 2
SOCIAL CONSTRUCTIONISM
I based my planning and activity design on social constructionism. In addition to
attempting to raise a generation of problem solvers, reconstructionist educators also seek to
recognize and address several significant societal issues that our country is currently dealing
with, with a variety of targets including racism, pollution, homelessness, poverty, and violence.
This philosophy will prevent students from engaging in social injustices like
discriminating against their friends and other people in their environment. They were given the
freedom to choose and it’s up to them whether they do the right thing or not.
QUARTER 3
EXISTENTIALISM
In teaching, I used the philosophy of existentialism. I believe that every individual is
unique, and education must cater to individual differences but most importantly the freedom of
the learners to choose their future. Therefore, the objective of education is to enable every
individual to develop this unique quality, harness his potential and cultivate his individualities.
This philosophy aims to teach learners to accept individual differences by integrating the
idea of intersubjectivity into their understanding and having them apply it to their everyday
interactions with friends, family, and even complete strangers.
QUARTER 4
CONSTRUCTIVISM
I employed constructivism in my teaching strategies as it centers and emphasizes
learning and students actively participating in lessons. I believe that students should be able to
discover lessons on their own through hands-on activity because it is the most effective way of
learning and is considered true learning.
