    Survey Pro for Windows 10 Licensing


    Overview
    Survey Pro for Windows 10 version 6.3 has a new licensing system that includes new part numbers and pricing.
    These changes only apply to the Windows 10 version and not to the Windows Embedded Handheld (WEHH)
    version like Ranger 3, Nomad 1050, and T41.

    Proof of Purchase Numbers (POPN)


    A POPN is a license key used to enable the software or a software module for Survey Pro on the desired device.

    POPN Features:
    ● The POPN is a license key that can be used to license the software on any device.
    ● A POPN can be applied to a device when desired.
    ● POPN licenses can be transferred from one device to another if the software warranty is current.
    ● The POPN is required for proof of purchase in some cases so a copy should always be kept.
    ● POPN licenses are available for the main program and for each module.

    Devices Previously Licensed with the Legacy System


    Windows 10 devices that are licensed using the legacy licensing system will continue to function using the existing
    licensing system and rules. If a new version is installed while the device is connected to the internet, the legacy
    licensing will activate and validate the license.
    In order to transfer a license, the new POPN system must be used.
    A new module can be added to a legacy license using the legacy part numbers and the legacy process.

    Warranties and Transfers
    Warranties
    Warranties conditions and rules will not change under this new licensing system.

    Transfer Procedures
    It is possible to transfer the POPN licenses from one Windows 10 device to another Windows 10 device.

    Transfer Requirements
    ● The software warranty must be current prior to transferring the software. The warranty status is shown on
    the Registration page.
    ● All licenses on a device are transferred as a block. It is not possible to move one module from one device to
    another. All licenses will be moved to the new device from the old.
    ● Only one POPN number is required to be entered on the new device to activate all the existing module
    licenses.
    ● An internet connection is required in order to complete the transfer.
    ● If the current data collector hardware has been destroyed or is inoperable, then the dealer must confirm and
    authenticate the claim for a license transfer.

    Details for the Normal Transfer Process


    1. Go to the Registration screen on the data collector where Survey Pro will be transferred from.
    2. Press the U key on the keyboard.
    3. A screen will appear asking if you want to confirm the removal of the licenses from this device.
    4. Confirm the removal. A POPN will be shown that can be used to load all the licenses on the new device.
    a. A text file with the POPN in it will also be written to the desktop of the device.
    5. Open Survey Pro on the new device and go to the Registration screen and enter the POPN from the
    previous step.
    6. Survey Pro and all the modules from the old device will automatically be licensed on the new device.

    Details for Transfers from a Destroyed Device


    The POPN licenses can still be transferred even if the Windows 10 device that contains the license has been
    destroyed.
    Contact your dealer with details and proof that the device has been destroyed or is inoperable.

    Survey Pro Main Program (Survey Standard) PN: SP-SWO-SS
    SURVEY STANDARD is a complete data collection package for surveyors. It contains standard mechanical total
    station measurement and staking routines and a complete COGO suite.

    Survey Standard to Survey Pro Module PN: SP-SMA-SS-SP


    SURVEY PRO shares all Survey Standard functions and adds advanced road layout routines, advanced staking
    routines, attribute collection, DTM routines, and much more.

    Survey Pro to Survey Pro Robotic PN: SP-SMA-SP-SR


    SURVEY PRO ROBOTIC shares all Survey Pro functions and adds support for controlling robotic total stations.
    Use the data collector at the rod to store measurements, locate a point, and control the instrument searching and
    settings.

    Survey Pro to Survey Pro GNSS PN: SP-SMA-SP-SG


    SURVEY PRO GNSS shares all the Survey Pro functions, and it provides the capability to collect data from RTK
    GNSS receivers. The GNSS software is easy to use, reduces training and simplifies setups. All staking functions
    are supported when using GNSS receivers.

    Survey Pro Robotic and GNSS modules combined for Survey Pro Max
    SURVEY PRO MAX is the ultimate field software. It integrates Survey Pro Robotic and Survey Pro GNSS
    functions, enabling you to use the same job files with both GPS/GNSS receivers and total stations. There is no
    separate POPN for going from Survey Pro to Survey Pro Max. The Robotic and GNSS POPN can be combined to
    upgrade to Max.

    Leveling Module add to any Module from Standard on up PN: SP-SMA-LV


    LEVELING MODULE - Add Leveling to any module of Survey Pro to add support for level loops, trigonometric
    leveling, and digital level drivers.

    Where Used
    A POPN can be used on any supported Windows 10 device, tablet or PC.
    The POPN system is not used with WEHH devices like Ranger 3, Nomad 1050, or T41. Licenses on WEHH
    devices are still non-transferable. Only the Windows 10 Tablet version is transferable.

    ● In order to license either Robotic or GNSS, the Pro module must first be purchased and installed.
    ● In order to license the Max module, both the Robotic and GNSS POPN licenses must be purchased and
    both POPN numbers must be entered into the Registration screen in Survey Pro.

    Important
    Retain copies of the POPN License emails.

    Keep a record of the POPN license code for use in the future as proof of purchase. This number will be needed to
    reinstall software on a factory reset unit, or to transfer the software to a new device.

    If both the POPN and the serial number of the device it was installed on are lost, there is nothing that can be
    done to recover the license.
