Topic 1:

 Learning English

1. How long have you been learning English?

 I have learned EL since I was at primary school. However, I was not good at learning it. In
this modern era, EL is very important because it improve my job prospects so I try to learn EL.

2. How do you study it?

 I learn EL in differents way. Besides learing EL in class, I often watch foreign movies without
subtitles. In addition, I regularly take nots of new words and stick them on the wall, so that I can
see it any time.

3. What do you find most difficult when learning English?

 My biggest problem is pronunciation. I have difficulty is pronouncing words with silent


letters. Besides, my vocabulary size is small so I have a hard time expessing my ideas.

 Your family

1. Tell me about your family.

 My family is an extended family. There are 7 peoples which are my grandparents, my parents,
my brother, my sister and me. My grandparents are retired. They are the closest to me. My
parents are working abroad. My brother and sister are the same.

2. What do you usually do when your family gather?

 My family enjoys cooking together. We share with each other about everything that happens
in life. I usually help my grandparents pull out their gray hair. For now, I live alone in another
city far from my family so I miss them so much.

3. Do you often share things with your family?

 Sure. We are really close to each other. I am happy that I can tell them anything. They are
always there to listen when I have problems.

Topic 2:

 Your free time activities.

1. What do you often do in your free time?


 I usually study English in my free time. I was not good at learning it. In this modern era,
English is very important because it improve my job prospects so I try to learn EL.

2. Do you watch TV? If no, why not? If yes, which TV channel do you like best? Why?

 Yes. I watch TV whenever I want, maybe when I’m in a good mood or not. Especially I love
watching the News at 7 pm every day because it provides me with a huge amount of information,
ranging from education to entertainment, ect.

3. Do you read books? If no, why not? If yes, what kinds of books do you like best? Why?

 No, I don’t like read book. Because I find it boring. As answered in the previous question, I
prefer to watch TV than read books.

 your place of living.

1. Do you live in a house or a flat?

 I live in a house in my hometown. However, when I went to Hanoi to study, I rented a small
room in the apartment to stay with my friends.

2. What do you like about your place of living?

 To be honest, I would say I like everything. From the food, the scenery to the people here. The
only thing that I don't like is the weather.

3. Can you tell me something about your neighbourhood?

 Nothing special either. There are many coffee shops here, I often go there to study or meet
friends. in addition, there is a large supermarket nearby so I often buy things without going far.

Topic 3:

 Let’s talk about sports.

1. What sports or physical exercise do you often do?

 Well, I usually play chess in my free time. I have been playing chess since I was 9 years old.
In addition, I join the chess club at school to learn and improve my skills.

2. Do you prefer watching of playing sports?

 Yes, of course. I like to watch chess matches. Besides watching chess matches, I also play
chess with everyone in the club.

3. What is the most popular sport in your country?


 The most popular sport is football. Almost all Vietnamese people love football.Football is
more popular than all other games because of the lively atmosphere it creates.

 Let’s talk about your hometown.

1. Where is your hometown?

 My hometown is Quang Binh province. It's in the central part of Vietnam. It’s about 400 km
from Hanoi

2. Do you often visit the countryside?

 Yes,once a month. It takes about 8 to 10 hours by coach. I live is a rural area so i can break
out of the noise of the city and enjoy the fresh air when i go back to my home.

3. What do people do when visiting your hometown?

 My hometown is famous for travel place which is Phong Nha Ke Bang cave so i think when
the people come to my hometown they will visit there and try the local food.

Topic 4:

 Let’s talk about cooking.

1. Are you good at cooking?

 Well, i’m not good at cooking but I really love it. Whenever I enjoy delicious food I will try
my best to find a recipe as similar as possible.

2. Which dish do you often cook?

 I often cook dessert like different flavors of cake and some food such as spaghetti, tokbokki,
kimbap, fried chicken, ect.

3. Who cooks in your family?

 My mom usually a main chef in my family because her’s cooking ability is very good. I am
also learning to cook from my mother so that I can cook delicious dishes for my small family in
the future.

 Let’s talk about learning foreign language.

1. How many foreign languages can you speak?


About 3 languges. Of course I can fully speak Vietnamese because I’m a native speaker. A
little English and Japanese to communicate with people.

2. Which language skill do you find it the most difficult?

 In my opinion, speaking is the most difficult skill because I didn't have the environment to
practice. Besides, I am also quite shy whenever I say something wrong ...

3. What language skill do you like most?

 To be honest, I I like the most is the listening skill. I usually listen to foreign music and watch
movies no subtittles to improve my listening skills.

Topic 5:

 Let’s talk about staying healthy.

1. Is it important to eat healthy food?

 Yes, it's very important. I prefer to eat healthy home-cooked food, rather than fast food or
pre-prepared meals, because I want to stay fit and healthy as I get older.

2. What do you do to keep fit and healthy?

 In my view, the best ways to keep fit and healthy are do more regular exercise and putting
more healthy food into the diet like fruits and vegetables. It’s essential to stick to a healthy
lifestyle in order to live much longer. Hence, I avoid eat junk food.

3. Do you do anything which is not healthy?

 So embarrassing to talk about this. I used to be an milk tea-addicted I liked it so much that I
can drink one almost every day but now i give it up and toward a healthier lifestyle.

 Let’s talk about transport.

1. How often do you do use public transport?

 I usually go to school by own motorbike so i just use public transport when I want to go
somewhere too far I can’t drive in a long distance

2. What types of public transport do you use?

I choose the electronical bus . It’s quite convenient because Ha Noi have a lot of bus and the
price is cheap too.
3. How often do you take taxis?

 I rarely take taxis because the streets of Hanoi are quite small, narrow and often be
congested in a rush hour.

Topic 6:

 Let’s talk about travelling.


1. Do you like travelling?
 Definitely! I would like to visit different places, experience other cultures and try
different food and dishes.
2. Have you travelled this year?
 I’m sad that I haven’t had an opportunity to travel this year. I am a freshman now,
studying and living in new circumstances that’s why spending time traveling is too hard
for me but I hope that I’ll have a wonderful traveling on this summer.
3. Where do you like to travel during the holidays?
 My travel destination of choice is Da Nang. To my mind, Da Nang is the worth-living
city so of course, it also is the best place to relax in a clear crystal-like sea water and
enjoy its local cuisine.

 Let’s talk about your job.


1. What is your ideal job?
 Actually I’m a freshman major in accounting. So I want to be an accoutant in the
future.

2. What do you like about your dream job?

 I don’t know. I think working with numbers. Because when I was at high school, my favourite
subject is math. That’s also why I chose to major in accounting.

3. Where do you want to work?

 To be honest, I want to work in bank in my hometown. My parents also wish I could work there.
I choose my hometown but not the big city because I don't want to be far from my family.

Topic 7:

 Let’s talk about communication.


1. How do you usually keep in touch with members of your family? Your friends?
 Most of my friends and family member all live and work in another city but nowday
technology develops so I can still keep in touch with them through social media like
facebook, zalo,...
2. How often do you make phone calls?
 To be honest, it's not very often, maybe once or twice a month or when I am
somewhere there is no wifi
3. How often do you send emails?
 I use email very little because most of the time I communicate with people through
text, social media. I only use email when communicating with schools about academic
issues.
 Let’s talk about the Internet.
1. How much time do you use the Internet every day?
 I use the internet about 10 hours a day. When I am in school, I use the internet to look
up informations, documents and dictionaries.
2. What do you use the Internet for?
 As i mentioned before, The purpose for which I use the Internet is different .When I'm
at home, I use the internet for entertainment like surfing the web, listening to music,
watching movies ...
3. What is your favourite website?
 Shopee is the website and also the app that I like the most because Shopee is the
largest online shopping platform in Vietnam.I can buy clothes or other necessary items
for myself and my family ...

Topic 8:

 Let’s talk about food.


1. What is your favourite food?
 I’d have to say that I’m a huge fan of noodles and seafood so my favourite food is crab
Đa cake (bánh Đa cua) which is a noodle soup dish served with a crab broth.
2. Do you like street food?
 Yes, I like street food. I'm not sure about its cleanliness but it’s delicious though.
3. On what occasion did you eat street food?
 I sometime eat street food on special occasions like friend’s birthday or eat with
members in a school club.

 Let’s talk about clothes.


1. What kinds of clothes do you usually wear?
 Well, I prefer casuals because I feel comfy and flexible. I also wear a pair of jeans on
a regular basis as I can easily mix and match them with a T-shirt and sneakers.
2. Do you enjoy buying clothes?
 Yes, like most people, I’m keen on shopping. Sometimes, I buy an expensive dress or
skirt as a way to reward myself for my considerable effort.

3. Do you think fashion is important?


 No, I think fashion is not so important because human personality cannot be expressed
through clothes.

Topic 9:

 Let’s talk about music.


1. Do you like listening to music?
 Yes, of course, I’ve always been a big fan of music since I was a little girl. Sometimes
I also listen to music before sleeping at night for one hour and when I am riding my
motorbike, which will both help me relax and feel more energetic when I hear the tune.
2. What is your favourite kind of music?
 I listen to different types musics, It depends on my mod. When I am happy, I usually
come to k-pop music. When I need to relax, or concentrate for studying, I come to R&B
and when I am feeling the sense of patriot, I turn to traditional music...
3. Have you ever been to concert before?
 I have never been to concert before because I’m currently a student and don’t have
much money to go. I will try to make a lot of money to go to my favourite singer’s
concert.
 Let’s talk about watching TV.
1. Do you like watching TV?
Yes I can spend hours sitting in front of the screen to watch my favourite programs. It
really makes me feel refreshed and all daily stress is disappear when I immerse myself
in one specific TV program.
2. How much time do you spend watching TV?
 I watch TV every day, especially while having dinner and after finishing the meal. I
think this is a great way for me to relax after a long day at school.
3. What type of TV program do you like watching?
 I’m interested in watching reality shows. I feel they are so entertaining. For example,
when I watch a funny show, I will laugh all day.

Topic 10:

 Let’s talk about using computer.


1. Do you use computers?
 Yes, I do, I use a computer often because the computer screen is quite large, I can use
it instead of taking notes in books when I go to class ...
2. How often do you use your computer?
 I use my computer almost every day for study and variety of personal use like
watching movies, listening to music, and doing some online shopping
3. How important is your computer to you?
 Computers is very important . It also extremely necessary in my daily life, just like
daily habit: eating and sleeping
 Let’s talk about your shopping habits.
1. Do you enjoy going shopping? Why (not)?

 I’m a shopaholic. you know, I can shopping a malls or watching shopping online platform
all day. Trying on trendy, up-to-date clothes make me feel happier.

2. How often do you go shopping?


 Almost every weekend. But usually, I don’t plan ahead. There are so many times when
I just walked past a nice dress in a store and decided that I had to have it so I bought it
without a second thought.
3. What do you often go shopping for?
 I often go shopping to buy what I need besides consulting market prices for upcoming
business purposes.

Topic 11:

 Let’s talk about using your reading habits.


1. Do you like reading?
 Yes, I take a keen interest in reading. I read all sorts of things, including novels,
magazines, online articles and. Reading is is an indispensable activity in my daily
activities.
2. What do you normally read?
 I read all sorts of genres from action adventure, thrillers, mysteries especially
romantic book because I'm a romanticist and I like romantic things.
3. What are the benefits of reading a book?
 Book is a huge source of knowledge. Reading books is not only for entertain, but
through that, we can learn more endless knowledge that we have never known before.

 Let’s talk about animals.


1. Do you like animals?
 To be honest, I only like friendly animals such as dogs, cats and birds. I consider them
human’s friends and keeping them as pets will help me release my negative emotions.
2. Do you have a pet?
No, I don’t. However, my family used to have really smart dogs. Unfortunately, my dad
sold him for some reason no matter how hard I cried. Whenever I think about him, my
painful memories came back and I felt heartbroken.
3. What kinds of animals do people keep as pets where you live?
 Just like other countries in the world, we tend to keep dogs and cats as companions.
This is because these animals are kind and easy to live with humans.
Topic 12:

 Let’s talk about seasons in a year.

1. Which season do you like most?

 I love spring. Spring weather is very good. The sky is blue and clean. Spring is also the
season of Lunar New Year. This is an occasion for families to gather together and enjoy
traditional dishes.

2. How many seasons are there in your country?

 There are 4 seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. However, in southern Vietnam,
there are usually only 2 seasons, the rainy season and the dry season.

3. What do you like doing the most in winter or summer?

 The weather in summer very hot. So I love being immersed in the cool water of the beach. In
winter it's the complete opposite, sleeping in a warm blanket is the best thing for me.

 Let’s talk about celebrating birthdays.

1. Do you prefer to be with your family or with friends on your birthday?

 No reason to choose. My friends are my family too and I woudn’t celebrate without either one
of them.

2. What do you generally do on your birthdays in your country?

 Birthday is the most special day for everyone. I usually celebrate a small meal at home and
invite friends over for my birthday. Of course, birthday cakes and candles are indispensable.

3. Do people in your family celebrate birthdays in different ways?

 Yes. My parents, brothers and sisters like to eat out at restaurants for their birthdays. I just
love a cozy meal at home because I hate noise.
