1 460K AHWU
1.1 General
CEEM as a recognized supplier of oilfield equipment has become a solution provider to the oil
exploration and production sector. CEEM has routinely implemented improvements to equipment
designs and provided operational solutions with specially designed equipment.
CEEM has participated in the refurbishment and enhancement of equipment owned by all of the
Major HWU suppliers. In doing so it has developed a strong sense of market requirement and has a
wealth of knowledge related to HWU services and commercial requirements.
CEEM has now assembled a package consisting of all the advancements made to the hydraulic
work-over units as well as bundling of all of the support equipment that has brought success to many
projects.
The CEEM 460K AHWU is designed to be rigged up as a stand-alone unit, and to be used for the
work over of existing wells Offshore and Land based. The rig is designed to complete all work-over
functions completed by a conventional rig with the additional capability of working with pressure in
snubbing and underbalanced situations.

• Rig components have been simplified in order to utilize less experienced personnel

HWU service providers face a number of obstacles to reaching maximum performance on the
commercial side of their operations.
• They cannot get a contract without having equipment and they cannot build equipment without
having a contract
• They have some of the equipment but it is out of spec and mismatched so when they get a
contract they are not in a position to “load and go”
• The equipment when mobilized is out of dimension and cost of shipping is hit and miss as carriers
will not move the equipment on quote
• The equipment is open to the elements and when shipped material is lost and damaged routinely

• The equipment requires special handling for loading and off loading so personnel have to be
present at both the shipping point and the destination
• The equipment requires trained personnel to operate as it has unique requirements for assembly
and operation
• The equipment is under built for the task and frequently breaks down and requires large amounts
of maintenance and spares that are unique to the equipment
• The rig does not have proper storage for assets and many are lost or spoiled as a result
• The rig when demobilized is packed up and shipped back in the same method as it was mobilized
and materials are lost and damaged
CEEM AHWU unit has all features currently required for contract work built into its design or
incorporated in the package as a result of included support equipment
CEEM does not build equipment that cannot be shipped via standard shipping line within ISO
dimensions
CEEM packages all equipment to fit inside the shipping container for storage or inside of purpose
built frame that are easily fit inside shipping containers for mobilization
CEEM equipment being shipped inside of standard shipping containers requires no special
handling at point of departure or destination.
CEEM equipment has been simplified and standardized so that personnel with the most minimal
of mechanical knowledge can maintain the equipment
CEEM equipment is built according to the service the equipment will see. Overbuilt components
that can handle abuse during operation. In the each components design standardized parts that
are interchangeable with more common equipment are used such as Caterpillar seals, bearings
from drilling rigs etc.. allowing the equipment to take advantage of stock parts world wide
CEEM AHWU comes complete with specialized storage for all tools and spares to protect assets
from loss or damage as well as to make sure they are locatable when required
CEEM AHWU is inventoried out to a job and inventoried in from the job. The equipment is
packaged the same for mobilization as it is for demobilization allowing the asset to be returned in
the best possible condition. Spares can be ordered as per stock levels at job completion. The rig
can be turned around in a shorter time period and be a “Load and Go” condition when leaving the
job rather than after months of refurbishment in the yard.
By incorporating these solutions in to the design of the equipment the CEEM 460K AHWU
containerized rig provides the highest rate of return to the rig owner

JACK
• HUSCO valve mounted on milled flat bracket to ensure zero tension on housing that may cause
spool sticking
• HUSCO valve piping connected by way of fully machined manifold block to prevent any tension on

• Hydraulic piping is 2.5 inch through the tee and then reduces to 2 inch to the cylinders allowing for
maximum flow
• CEEM designed swivel flanges on hydraulic piping allowing for zero stress connection with perfect
flange alignment
• Valves for two leg four leg selection are full port 2.5 inch flanged connection
• Hydraulic piping from barrel end of cylinder is routed on backside of post allowing for maximum
work space in window area
• Threaded connection on the piping are joined by flanged connection making for quick repair in the
event a threaded connection becomes damaged
• Hydraulic cylinders are manufactured with full opening flange on rod end allowing for rod and
piston to be removed through the opening. This allows rod and piston service with pipe in the hole
and no requirement to rig down

• Jack is assembled with four post that form the structure of the jack, cylinders are not stresses by
forces other than the movement of tubular
• Jack cylinders can be removed from jack through the top of the jack frame. This can be done with
pipe in the hole and no requirement to rig down
• Jack work window is formed by the main posts of the jack and has line bored holes at 300mm
intervals bored on each post
• Jack work window plate can travel the full length of the jack structure allowing the slips to be
positioned at any height
• Jack work window through manipulation of slip position can be utilized to create an effective
stroke of 20 feet for the removal / installation of long tool assemblies
• Jack work window plate can be positioned near the top of the frame allowing banding of cable to
completed below the slip bowls

MAIN WORKBASKET
• Folding design allows for transport and storage inside a standard shipping container
• Flat finished floor with zero projections above the grating
• All panels are mounted in the basket by threaded fasteners and are left in position during normal
shipping (folded basket)
• Connected to basket riser by way of three inch acme threaded fasteners

DERRICK
• Crown assembly is bolted construction allowing easy assembly / disassembly for inspection and
service intervals in the field
• Crown assembly is mounted on a hinge pin allowing the crown assembly to tip up so the derrick
can sit on the ground or work deck directly requiring no special stands
• Derrick has rollers built in to the base and tip so that it can be tailed in/out easily during rig
up/down as well as for rolling in/out of containers for storage and shipping
• Derrick rigs in from the horizontal requiring a lower sling lift height than the workbasket for
placement
A link arm is connected from the jack travelling head to the derrick
The travelling head is raised and the derrick is rotated to the vertical position and pinned in place

Derrick is attached at basket riser allowing for interchangeable drilling riser and work over riser as well as
creating clear walk around on both mid level basket and lower work basket

Derrick is hydraulically extended by a single stage cylinder located atop of the derrick
• Derrick is pinned in the extended position by way of spring over hydraulic cylinders
• Cylinders are double rod design with internal rod pushing a 75mm 4130 pin that locks the travel of
the derrick extension
• Exterior rod shows to workers as a visual indication of lock position, rod flush to outside of cylinder
barrel end lock is engaged, rod showing lock is in the open position

COUNTERBALANCE WINCH
• Winches are mounted over/under allowing both winch drums to run centerline and cable is
spooled evenly across the centerline of the drum
MAIN WINCH
• Winch is strung as two line utilizing die formed cable to reduce overall cable size
• Winch block is designed to have 20 percent greater weight than cable on back side when block at
crown to provide no load travel down from crown
• Winch block is slim line to allow for minimum distance between counterbalance winches and
provide all three winches with near to center hole operation

• Rotary supply, return and case drain hoses are protected from snagging during continuous
rotating and jacking operations

2 Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
2.1 General
The CEEM 460K AHWU is designed for easy and safe operation. There are four specialized operator
consoles within the workbasket. Each console has a minimum of controls specific to the intended
task:
• Main operators console is located to the farthest point from the hole center allowing a clear view
of all operations and eliminating the potential for operations to be conducted outside of the
operators line of sight
• Tong panel allows for control of the pressure of the power tongs and shifting of the tongs on and
off and diverting hydraulic pressure to the main winch panel this allows the operator to designate
operation of these controls to a roughneck as there are no controls other than those for the task
located in the panel eliminating the potential for miss operation.
• Counterbalance panel is located at the front of the work floor next to the V-door allowing the
operator line of sight to the ground as well as to basket operations. All necessary controls for pick
up and lay down of tubular are located in this position and the counterbalance operator has full
control of the task.
• Main winch panel is located at the opposite side of the V-door from the counterbalance and
remain un-manned unless in use. When operated a line of site view to the ground and well as
basket operations is available. With these controls removed from other control panels eliminates
the chance of miss operation.

2.2.3 Area Classification
The CEEM 460K AHWU will be used in the well head area of existing platforms and land based
locations.
The rig area is regarded as naturally ventilated area. Hazardous area is based on normal drilling and
workover operations.
Workers will be primarily in work areas that are less than 80 DBA and appropriate signage is present
in all areas requiring hearing protection

PRODUCT INTRODUCTION:
Canadian Energy Equipment Manufacturing FZE., is a unique manufacturing company that provides
solutions to problems faced by industry professionals. The CEEM stair tower product was designed to
solve access problems for Hydraulic Work Over Equipment used on land and offshore.
- We are unable to provide safe access and egress from work platforms at elevations up to 100 feet for
our workers.
Design criteria:
- Equipment must be mobile between locations within a given field
- transportable around the globe by all forms of transport
- set up and maintained by rig personnel
- Operationally conform to industry and government standards
The CEEM stair tower meets and exceeds all requirements and provides the solution to ACCESS and
EGRESS to elevated work platforms in the Hydraulic Work Over industry. It has also been adapted
for use in other industries where the same challenges were faced.

OPERATIONAL DESIGN:
The Stair tower is constructed of mild steel components that are welded into sub assemblies that are
finished by hot dip galvanizing. These sub assemblies are bolted together to form platform section
that are stacked for transport to the work site. These stacked platforms are then erected by use of a
crane and trained personnel into the required stair tower.
The CEEM stair tower product can be easily erected with a small team of personnel and a crane of
appropriate rating to be determined in installation plan.
