John and Mary took a weekend trip to a bed and breakfast about 50 miles away. When they arrived, they had drinks with other guests during happy hour. The next morning, they went for a walk along the river and felt tired when they returned, so they sat on the porch to watch boats on the river.

A weekend in the country


John: I think it’s about fifty miles.
Mary: I wonder when we’ll arrive.
John: We shoul be there in a Little over an
hour.
John was right. After driving for an hour an
ten minutes, the arrive at the bed and
breakfast. It was happy hour and many of the
guests were drinking cocktails in the parking
lot.
Mary:Let’s have a drink first, then we can
take the luggage up to our room.
John: Good idea. There’s nothing like a nice
cold beer!
Mary: Why don’t we have our drinks in the
diningroom with the other guests?
They sat at a table and the waitress brought
them two Budweisers. They drank the beers and
then went to rest in their room.

The next morning they got up very early and


went for walk. They walked along the Banks of
the river. They were a Little tired when they
got bock to the hotel, so they sat on the
porch to watch the boats on the river.
