A Real time operating system is an OS the interval of time needed to process input and respond to them
is relatively minimal. Response time is the term for this period. This OS is used when there are extremely
stringent time constraints like missile systems, air traffic control system, robotics, etc.
A Multiprocessing operating system is an OS that supports and manages the allocation of multiple
processors or CPU cores in a computer system. This enables multiple tasks or processes to be executed
simultaneously, resulting in improved performance and efficiency. Moreover, this type of OS are
commonly used in high-performance computing systems, servers, and other advanced computing
environments.
The Networking operating system can ease the centralized control of data, user groups and programs on
the server within a local area network. The user can utilize them to access and share files, gadgets, and
programs like security software and printers. The disadvantages might involve more complexity, a
potential single point of failure, higher implementation and maintenance costs, while the advantages
may include simpler administration, effective resource sharing, and improved collaboration.
Distributed operating systems -In order to facilitate efficient communication between interconnected
machines, distributed operating systems rely on communication networks. They act as system software
for numerous different processing nodes, enabling the management of data security applications and
other tasks on a server. These systems provide resource sharing and fault tolerance by using multiple
central processes to provide real-time services to many consumers concurrently.
Mobile operating system- smaller devices like smartphones, tablets, and wearables are built to operate
with mobile operating systems. The functionalities of personal computer features is combined so that it
will become a portable use. When a device powers up, these operating systems start up and allowing
users to use downloaded apps and handle wireless network connectivity.
