Program Objectives
The design of a Process plant is a complex activity that will usually involve various disciplines. Piping
Engineering Design Basis (EDB) is the base document which constitutes an agreement between
Client and Consultant on the basis of which the Process Plant is designed.
The Piping EDB covers all aspects of Piping for Detail Engineering like Codes to be followed,
Equipment layout, Piping Layout, Flexibility Analysis, Material specifications, etc . A major part of
Piping Design, is Piping Layout which is an art which needs to have knowledge of human factors and
ergonomics apart from technical. The aim of training program is to impart prime principles and guide
lines for developing Equipment Layout/Piping Layout for Refineries along with an understanding of
the various other Design Basis requirements.
