A Narrative Report in crafting chapter 2 and chapter 3 in Research in

Education

NARRATIVE REPORT (NOVEMBER 5, 2022)

First Meeting
As mandated by our Research

Instructor and the obligations we

need to accomplish for our research,

we need to make a narrative report of

what we were doing in our research

time, if we were doing our tasks as

students. The narrative report is the

equivalent of our quizzes, so we need to take pictures at every meeting that

we plan. Every action we take should be meticulously planned. As one of our

research needs, we need to get the list of all the senior high school learners.

Specifically, the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand. So, we

went to the Basic Education Principal’s office and politely asked Ma'am

Minerva if we could get the list of the Humanities of Social Sciences (HUMSS)

strand for our research. Then she asked why we needed the list, and then we

told her that it was for our research, and they were our respondents too. Then

she said we needed to write a formal letter of permission for her to sign so we

could finally get the full list for this particular strand. After that, Ms. Pancho

volunteered that she would be the one to write a permission letter. Then we

planned when our next meeting would be.

Starting
On November 4, 2022, at nine

in the morning, we held our first

educational gathering. in the

Philippine Electronics and

Communication Institute of

Technology (PECIT) library to acquire

information to aid us in learning more about how we may organize our review

of related literature and to get knowledge and suggestions. In order to create

an accurate review of related literature (RRL) and to gain a better and deeper

grasp of our topic. We want to seek for and evaluate further research studies

that explore our research topic, "study habits." To improve our job, as well as

to simplify and organize our tasks, we read a variety of research papers.

Things takes a lot of effort to figure it out, thus finding a review of related

literature is difficult. It gave us a headache as we looked for related literature

and studies. It must be accurate and pertinent to the research we conducted.

In order to assure quality work, it analyzes, evaluates, and critiques many

parts of the research project. Additionally, to improve the study's support.

Talking while working

Our second education

meeting happened on November 5,

2022, at 9 a.m. We gathered at the

new school building at the

Communication Institute of Technology (PECIT) to continue doing our

research. While others have not arrived yet, our leader decided to write an

attendance name and signature on it to see who’s here and who's

participating. Then, we talked about our research and understood it. The

function of each task is to fully provoke our knowledge and ideas in order to

have a successful activity. Our leader decided to divide our tasks among

those who will make the narrative report, the related review of the literature

(RRL), the letter request, and others. Now that we have our assigned task, we

decided to work it out so that we can finish it as soon as possible. In order to

facilitate group duties and to keep things organized, we support one another

as much as we can. We all did some Google searches on relevant topics to

learn more about our topic. Upon that, we discussed some ideas and thoughts

that we could include in our narrative and research report.

After taking our lunch

At 12 in the afternoon, we

decided to take a rest for a moment

to relax our minds. We decided to

take our lunch break at the food

shop. While having our lunch, we

talked about our research and how

hard and complicated it is. Then, we

returned to school immediately after eating our lunch so that we could

continue working on Chapter 2, which is the related literature and studies.

Each one of us started to research any related topics again. The RRL was

organized by Ms. Pancho and Ms. Oliquino. They arranged it according to

what our research instructor said. Other members are also busy working on

the assigned task. We decided to call it a day at 4:30 p.m. because some of

us needed to get home first. So, while packing our things, we took a picture

first to have proof.

Busy afternoon
For us future educators,

educational research has become a

challenge. But we are trying to do

our best to shape ourselves into

good students. We know that every

researcher has different roles in life,

especially as a student. But to be

responsible, we need to be

mindfully aware of our function so that we can accomplish our tasks and roles.

This week taught us the importance of order and balance, leadership,

teamwork, and friendship. How to value a group and how to be fashionable in

every decision we make because this will lead us to being a good one It

taught us to be more patient when looking at something so we could get what

we wanted. It reflects that we need to love what we are doing to fulfill the

needs of our activities and to facilitate the task. We know this experience will

lead our group to be strong and put one hundred percent effort into our task.

NARRATIVE REPORT (NOVEMBER 12, 2022)

At City Library

In connection with this, to

equip the researchers with the

necessary knowledge in the field of

research, our group headed by Ms.

Oliquino conducted another meeting

to continue our tasks. As a group, we

have to participate to facilitate the to the said group project. We emphasized

the importance of conducting sessions to find solutions to problems that arise

in our research paper. We asked questions if we didn't understand the

situation. We answer queries as much as we can so that we can proceed to

another one. We make suggestions to improve ourselves. And we valued

every piece of feedback we received. With some small and simple help, we

have planned how to solve the problems and to be united. As group we want

to organize things to make this group project better.

Searching and looking for some new idea

So, on November 12, 2022,

another gathering session will be

held at the Butuan City Library. As

usual the call time to meet at 9 a.m

in the morning. When other

researchers have not yet arrived, they decide to proceed to meet the goals.

The researcher talked about the topics in research and about continuing the

RRL so that we could proceed to another chapter on research. After that, we

took care of our request for a letter so that we could get the list of the students

who officially enrolled in Humss strands. But before that, every member must

sign our request letter and proceed to ask Mr. Hermocilla and Mrs. Acha to

sign it. And then we went to Mrs. Minerva for approval of the letter. When

everything is settled, we proceed to another goal. The researcher creates

some changes routinely to involve something new. Then we decided to split

up and do something else. We want to make the task easier, be more

organized, and to be less hassle.

Incomplete
The researcher introduces

the format of Chapter 3, which is

methodology. It explains and

describes the research methods,

design, population, respondents,

and instruments. Each of them

divides it by two. So that it would

be easier. Each pair talks about how they will do the assigned tasks. We as a

researcher looked for some examples on Google on how to craft chapter 3.

They read any article from the previous study to understand the subject. We

brainstorm, think of possible outcomes and analyze how to construct

sentences that in our research paper. While others look for strategies used to

implement that plan. All of us shared some of our ideas.

Relaxing
In this moment we

felt the stress and

struggled to complete the

task. So, we decided to

relax for a couple of

minutes to refresh our

minds. Each of us finds

motivation to fulfill our goals. So, some of us suggest buying a

snack to get some energy. While having a break we talked

about how hard the research is. We motivate each other so that

we can do it together. While other member scrolling on their

phones, watching TikTok videos to enjoy and to be entertain for

a minute. After that, we went back to our seats and continue to

do the task. On the other side, we count the students who

enrolled in Humss strand so that we can include and encode it.

While others are also busy doing the assigned tasked.

Last Groufie

At exactly noon, we decide to

take a break and have lunch as we

already felt the hungry. We went

together to the Carinderia to see what to eat. While having our lunch we

talked about our other subjects, assignments, and activity that need to be

done. We enjoyed talking without noticing the time that it is almost 1pm. So,

we finished our food right away and decide to go back to the City Library.

After a minute, we persist in our activity. We are cautious in our search for the

information that require. It can see how determined we are to do the task. So,

the group leader checked one by one if they do the task well. She makes

suggestions for every pair so that they can finalize their work. After that, we

take a selfie or group photo to have a proof or evidence that we really doing

our projects. Then, we decided to stopped and continuing it in the next

meeting because some of us also have something to do.

NARRATIVE REPORT (NOVEMBER 19, 2022)

Getting ready to finalize the output

Research is very crucial in our daily

lives because through research it

improves our services and treatments not

just for us but for the upcoming

generations, since research is a tool by

which we can test our own and each

other’s theories/ideas, to find an answer and advance knowledge. One of

purpose of research is really an ongoing process of correcting and clarifying

speculation, which should lead to the acceptance of unquestionable empirical

truths.

Brainstorming
So not only is research a valuable tool

for building on crucial knowledge, it is

also the most reliable way which we can

start to understand complexities of

various issues to maintain our integrity as

we disprove lies and uphold important

truth. As one of the students of Philippine

Electronic Institute of Technology (PECIT) conducting research is one of a

major requirement of our research instructor to do before we can allow to step

up our next journey which is completing the course and getting the bachelor’s

degree. On lieu with this on the 12 th day of November year 2022 our Group

leader chatted to our Gc that we need to have a meeting regarding to our

studies that we choose to conduct, we planned our meeting place will be held

at the City Library near at Iglesias ni Cristo church, It was said that we must

be there in our first destination in 8 o clock in the morning but sad to say my

other group mates didn’t follow the said time instead they arrived at 10 o

clock in the morning it’s kind a treat as Filipino time.

Proofreading
As we go thru our studies on that

day, me and my group mates doing

the Chapter 3 of research, the first

part of chapter 3 which is the

research method/design which we

collect and analyze the data that we

find out and interpret the availability

of facts in a new way or process, after that my other group mate work out

regarding our population or our respondents they went out to the senior high

school principal office to give a formal letter asking for a permission if we can

able to conduct survey and get the list of their pupils from grade 11 to 12

selected section HUMMS senior high school learners. In addition, some of my

group mates on the stated day trying to find a related books or articles that

can match to our studies that may can use in our future references as we go

thru our research.

Almost Done
As time goes by, we come up to do the

part of chapter which is the data gathering

procedure which we collect data in a

various articles or books in order for us to

process the information of our respective

respondents and to the all over the

relevant sources to find some answer and clarification to our specific research

studies/problem. On the last part of the chapter 3 which is the treatment of

data we decided to do some brain relaxation to refresh our brain cells and

minds to think it clearly again that so one of us can deliver properly our

understanding regarding on our chosen topic.

Finally Done

In the afternoon, we researcher

continue to make a chapter 3 in

our research topic we go on with

finding some related studies that

can connect in our

studies/problem. Then right after

that we make a validation of instrument which is the researcher has come to

the opinion that the instrument measure what was designed to measure, we

felt a bit struggle to find this validation of research topic because they are

different from other research study so that we look for the articles to find out

how to validate instrument. Our respective group leader made a decision to

split up the said task half of 3 member make a narrative report and the other

member continue to make a validation instrument. Researcher finalize the

chapter 2 and 3 after we finish our task so that we decide to print then we

decide that we need some contribution to pay and buy the folders. We take

some pictures of our group for evidence. At the end of an experience is a

great time to reflect on your learning. With every research experience you will

gain new skills, learn more about the type of environment you enjoy being in,

further explore your strengths and interests, and test out your motivation to

further study or pursue a career in a field or discipline. In some cases, a

research experiences teaches you what you don’t want moving forward; this is

an equally valuable learning experience that you need to recognize and use

when evaluating what’s next.
