1. Initiating the discussion
a. Questions i. Do you mind if I go first? ii. Would you mind going first/starting? iii. Would you care to go first? iv. Should I begin, or would you like to go first? v. Would it be okay with you if I started this? vi. Is it okay for you if I start? b. Responses i. Yeah, sure, go ahead. ii. Okay, I will! iii. I’d rather you / I went first, if that’s okay with you. iv. By all means, go ahead. v. Sure, not a problem 2. Getting Started on a Topic a. What do you think, Bob? b. Bob, I think you know a lot about [topic]. What's your opinion on it? c. Moving on to…, I believe that d. So what about [topic]? e. I wonder if we can compare [current topic] to [new topic]? f. What about this one? [pointing to topic] g. What do you think about this idea? h. How do you feel about that one? i. We're running out of time, so let's move on. j. Ah, that connects with the next topic. k. This topic is pretty similar to the last one - maybe we can skip it for now? 3. Introducing and Interlinking Ideas a. I believe that (aspect) deserves mentioning/being mentioned b. As far as I’m concerned, in this respect this idea is… c. From where I stand, we should bear in mind that d.
