POST – HIGH-SPEED DIESEL (HSD) AREA

This is an additional duty for approximately two hours-each shift during lunch
time only.

All Security Guards to daily attend a briefing session of 15 minutes every day before starting of
the shift to understand the daily task of their duty addressed by the security supervisor/security
officer.

GUARD’S RESPONSIBILITIES -HSD AREA HAZARD PREVENTION

 Security guards to ensure that smoking is prohibited within 15 meters of the


HSD area to prevent the ignition of flammable diesel vapours.
 Security guards to ensure there is no open flames, such as candles, matches,
lighters near the HSD area.
 Security guard to ensure that the use of mobile phones is prohibited within 15
meters of the HSD area.
 Security guard to ensure that proper earthing system is in place to prevent
the build-up of static electricity, which can ignite diesel fumes during diesel
transfer from diesel vehicle to diesel tank.
 Security guard to check HSD area has a fire extinguishers readily available
with a valid refiling date and expiry date.
 Security Guard to inform Security supervisor of any fireworks/ fire short-
circuits carried out near the wall boundary of the HSD area.
 Security guard to check no broken/damaged wire fences around the HSD
area. If found any broken/damaged wire fences, immediately inform the
security supervisor.
 Security guard to ensure that only trained individuals with proper safety
equipment (safety goggles, gloves and fire-resistant clothing) are allowed in
HSD area for inspection and maintenance work.
 Security guard to ensure no maintenance that involves fire work is allowed
inside the HSD area.
General Responsibilities:-
 It is your responsibility to be fully equipped and trained on handling
emergency situations like fire and medical.
