lead the prayer of thanksgiving.

We know that so much has already happened in one day and we still have the rest
of the day to enjoy. Ladies and gentlemen, lunch is served! Enjoy your food.

III. TRADITIONS

Ren: A wedding is not complete without traditions. We would like to move on to

the first tradition, the cutting of the cake.

1. Cutting of the Cake

May we request Groom and Bride to prepare for the cake cutting ceremony.  The
cake, which has been a part of wedding celebrations since the Roman times, is a
symbol of good luck and fertility. The sharing of this food symbolizes the couple's
willingness to fulfill each other's needs, creating a bond so simple and yet so
strong and of course, their life as one sprinkled with love and sweetness just like
cake. (Give instructions)
2. Champagne/Wine Toast

(Instruct the couple first)

Noel: Our next tradition is the champagne/wine toasting. Now that the cake has
been cut, let us join the bestman in the symbolic wine toast.

Raising a glass together is a way for everyone to share in wishing good health and
happiness to the newlyweds.

Let's seal it with a sweet kiss. Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!

3. First Dance/Money Dance

Ren: It is an opportunity for us to witness the first dance of the Newlyweds:

Father and daughter and Mother and son, to be followed by the traditional money
dance. This traditional money dance symbolizes the guests wishing the couple good
fortune, hoping that money and fortune will rain on our couple. This
is also another way of helping the couple at the beginning of their life
together.

Noel: As a wedding tradition, let us welcome the couple on the dance floor for
their first dance and as they dance their hearts away, guests would send their
wishes by pinning bills on the couples' dresses.

Life may get a little offbeat for the couple, they may miss a step or two but
their hearts will always beat harmoniously for each other.

Both: Ladies and gentlemen, the newlyweds in their first dance!

Let's give another round of applause for the couple!

***Short Q&A with the newlywed

4. Bouquet and Garter Toss

Noel: For some real excitement and fun, the lovely and single, feeling single,
almost single, it's-complicated single, and all the kinds of single maidens get hyped
up now as we are going to proceed to the traditional throwing of the bouquet. Get
your pump heels ready for jumping and do some stretching. As a belief, anyone
who gets the bouquet will be the next bride.

Ren: Ladies, please stay within the area as we now moving on to the tossing of the
bouquet. This tradition has been done over the years and is meant that whoever
catches the bouquet would have luck and protection. Nowadays, it has simply
evolved to imply that whoever caught the bouquet would be lucky and would be
wed next. So now may we ask all the single ladies to occupy the designated area
before you for the ceremonial tossing of the bouquet. The single ladies will form a
circle. We will be playing the game ‘stop dance’. We will play music and as the
music stops, whoever is holding the bouquet, is the lucky lady.

(Give further instructions…)

May I request for the lady who is holding the bouquet to please come forward and
join me here. Congratulations and may I have your name please? Ok so let’s give a
big hand to Miss______. Please have seat beside the bride and in a moment we
shall match in the garter toss.

Noel: the gentlemen's turn now for the garter toss. Get ready to wrestle as the
handsome groom is going to retrieve the garter. This tradition has been done over
the years and is meant that whoever catches the garter will be the luck guy to get
wed. Of course before the tossing of the garter, the groom will get it first
from the bride.

(Toss with a twist)

Let’s have a game, and it’s called “pass the garter” we will play music and as the
music stops, whoever is holding the bouquet, is the lucky guy.
(Let the lucky bachelor put the garter on to the lucky lady’s thigh.)

IV. MESSAGES***

Closing Spiel:

Both: Well I guess that’s about everything ladies and gentlemen we have finally
come to the end of our program. It has been a great and wonderful day with you
all. Once again, we would like to thank everyone for coming here today and sharing
this momentous occasion with Jake Mael and Rhea. We do hope that all of you had
