Security Precautions
Leaving of Print Document with e-BRIDGE Job Point for administrator
This software has the feature to print to more than one MFP at once. When using this function,
there is a greater possibility that the printed document is not collected at all MFPs or is
accessed by another user. Toshiba recommends that sensitive documents are printed using
the “Private Print” mode.

Option Setting Mistakes with e-BRIDGE Job Point

This software has the feature to print to more than one MFP at once.
Mistakes made while setting options may cause documents to be printed to unintended MFPs.
Please take care when using e-BRIDGE Job Point to ensure that the printed document is not
sent to unintended MFPs or is accessed by another user.
Toshiba recommends that sensitive documents are printed using the “Private Print” mode.

Intermingled with another e-BRIDGE Application Software

Using more than one e-BRIDGE Application Software on any one printer driver may cause
unexpected results. Toshiba recommends only one e-BRIDGE Application Software per printer
driver.

Using “Always use these settings”

When this option is chosen, e-BRIDGE Job Point will continue to send print jobs to the selected
MFPs without user intervention. Please be very careful when selecting this option.
Toshiba recommends that sensitive documents are printed using the “Private Print” mode.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I print to printers that are installed with a PCL driver?
No. The Job Point printer must be set up as a PostScript printer and Job Point will only forward
jobs to other TOSHIBA printers installed with a PostScript driver.

Why isn't my printer listed in Job Point?

Job Point only shows TOSHIBA printers that are set up as local printers that use PostScript
drivers. To add a printer as a local printer you must know its IP address or host name. Job Point
will not list other Job Point printers.

How do I get Job Point to show again after I have told it not to show?
Follow the steps in section 7 above or simplified steps below:
1. Go to the Printers and Faxes control panel.
2. Right-click on the Job Point printer.
3. Select the option that says “Show Job Point at next print”.
The next time you print to the Job Point printer it will show the settings that you chose. You
must choose the “Always use these settings…” setting again if you just wanted to make an
alteration, otherwise Job Point will erase the settings and will show the default settings the next
time you use Job Point.

What is the maximum number of copies I can use?

Each device that you use can be sent a maximum of 999 copies. Even if you chose a total
amount of sets that will be greater than 999 per selected device, each device will still only print
999 copies.

Can I print to both color and mono devices?

This is not a recommended procedure. In general, you should always use Job Point to split
amongst similar, or preferably identical devices. The results are unpredictable when you print a
color document to a mono device.

How do I remove the shortcuts in the “Send To” menu?

These shortcuts must be deleted manually from a special folder that is typically hidden from
the user. To access this folder, follow the steps below.
 For Windows XP, click “Start” and then click “Run”. Type “SHELL:SENDTO” and press
enter.
 For Windows Vista, click the “Start” button and in the search field, type
“SHELL:SENDTO” and press enter.

The output does not look correct on some devices. What is wrong?
Each Toshiba printer has specific features, some print jobs may produce unexpected results if
a printer driver for another printer is used. Different default settings on the destination devices
may also produce different results.

Page 14
e-BRID GE Job Point User Guide
What happens if I specify the number of copies/sets in my application?
The number of sets that you specify in your application is discarded by Job Point. You must
choose the number of sets in Job Point only.
