Class Work For Deepwater Subse Engineering

This proposal report summarizes a field development project for an adjoining reservoir. It includes: 1. An introduction to the case study and description of fluid composition in the reservoir. 2. A proposed field development plan and recommendations for rig type and artificial lift strategies to support producing wells. 3. Discussion of downhole corrosion control as a key requirement, with strategies recommended for mitigation. 4. Calculation of potential wax appearance temperature given hydrocarbon composition data. 5. Recommendations for pigging strategies for pipeline-riser systems of both the main line and adjoining asset.

1.) Present some estimated economic values for your decision, given
an oil price of $100/bbl and assuming the following below:
i) FPSO cost at $24,000,000 ; Cost of subsea christmas trees at $1,500,000 per unit
ii) Cost of manifold units at $800,000 per unit
iii) Cost of procurement of offshore jacket and installation at $12,000,000
iv) Recommend a new strategy for artificial lift that can be applied to support the
producing wells in the adjoining reservoir (provide technical reasons for your
recommendation).

2.) a.)
3.) Do you consider down hole corrosion control and mitigation a key requirement? If so
why? (Give a minimum of two technical reasons).

4.) a.) What strategies will you recommend for corrosion control? Give a brief explanation.

b.) Given the table below for another Niger-Delta Oil field, calculate the potential wax
appearance temperature (WAT) of a hydrocarbon given the following data below.

Carbon < C10 C10 – C15 C16 – C20 C21 – C30+
