Reason is referred as the power of the mind to think in a logical way, to understand and have
opinions. The question of whether animals can reason or not is a highly
controversial/complex issue that elicits strong opinions from various schools of thought.
From my point of view, I maintain/contend that animals operate on instinct and learned
behaviors, lacking the abstract thinking and rationality associated with human reasoning.
Specifically, abstract thinking involves the ability to think beyond concrete, immediate
circumstances and grasp concepts that are not physically present. It allows humans to
understand and manipulate ideas, symbols, and relationships that exist beyond the realm of
direct sensory experience. For example, humans can conceptualize notions like justice, love,
or infinity, which do not have tangible forms. In terms of the ability to reason logically,
evaluate evidence, and draw sound conclusions based on available information; it involves
critical thinking, weighing different perspectives, and making decisions based on reasoned
judgment. Rationality allows humans to analyze complex problems, consider multiple
variables, and engage in deductive or inductive reasoning to arrive at logical outcomes. These
cognitive abilities are thought to be uniquely developed in humans due to our advanced
linguistic, cultural, and societal frameworks. While animals may exhibit impressive cognitive
abilities, they often rely on instincts, immediate stimuli, or learned behaviors rather than
engaging in abstract thought or making rational decisions based on abstract principles. This
distinction in cognitive processes is what some contend separates animal reasoning from the
abstract thinking and rationality associated with human reasoning. In conclusion/Ultimately,
the question of animal reasoning motivate us to explore the boundaries of cognition across
species. It challenges us to consider the unique abilities and limitations of animals' minds and
prompts further research to unravel the mysteries of their cognitive processes. As our
understanding evolves, it is crucial to approach this controversial issue with an open mind,

3. Home schooling – should or should not in Vietnam context? 
Homeschooling is defined as a progressive movement which parents educate their children at
home instead of sending them to a traditional public or private school (Jamie, 2022). While
there are clear advantages of homeschooling with regards to lack social interaction and a
large amount of material and spiritual effort, I maintain that the upsides of homeschooling
such as a personalized curriculum and strong bonds between parents and their children are
largely outweighed by the disadvantages. Firstly, this model can be constructed flexibly to
suit their children’s needs and strengths without heavy pressures on learning a certain subject
within a specific period of time. In traditional schools, teachers are required to follow a
standardized curriculum, which may not cater to the unique strengths and weaknesses of each
child. In contrast, homeschooling allows parents to design a curriculum that is better suited to
their child's pace of learning and interests. For example, with children facing psychological
issues, the curriculum should primarily consist of therapeutic healing rather than academic
subjects that heavily emphasize grades, as in the case of Vietnam at present.
Secondly/Another strong justification for homeschooling is that, parents can forge a stronger
bond with their children while teaching at home. To be more specific, homeschooling can
enable parents to engage in psychologically stimulating activities and spend more time with
their children, as opposed to the few hours they have in the evening if their children are sent
to school. Consequently, parents are likely to be more understanding and sympathetic to their
child, hence, strengthen the familial relationship between parents and offspring. In
conclusion, I contend that the disadvantages of a personalized curriculum in terms of
potential deficiency in social communication as well as the required exorbitant payment and
the mental impairment outweigh any perceived advantages inherent in homeschooling.
However, homeschooling is still a necessary educational option for parents of children whose
traditional schools under-severe and sometimes harm, especially during the Covid 19th
pandemic.

can lead to cultural appropriation, diluting its authentic meaning and reducing it to a mere fashion
trend. Critics also highlight the importance of considering the evolving nature of culture, recognizing
that traditions may evolve and adapt to contemporary contexts naturally, without the need for forced
popularization.

To approach this issue responsibly, it is essential to strike a balance between preserving cultural
heritage and respecting the cultural agency of individuals. Cultural promotion efforts should involve
meaningful engagement with local communities, ensuring their active participation in decision-
making processes. Sensitivity to issues of representation, authenticity, and cultural ownership is
crucial to prevent the exploitation of traditional garments like the áo dài tứ thân.

Ultimately, the popularization of the áo dài tứ thân should be approached with cultural sensitivity and
an understanding of its historical, social, and cultural significance. Respecting the voices and agency
of the communities involved, while fostering appreciation and understanding, can help ensure that
the promotion of the áo dài tứ thân aligns with the principles of cultural preservation and integrity.

10. A world where humans don’t lie is a better world. 
Lying is probably one of the most common moral wrongdoing that we involve in.
According to Immanuel Kant’s absolute deontology, lying is bad in itself and has to
be avoided at all costs (Thomas L., 2010). Another widely held belief is that lying
should only be done in extreme situations because the results are frequently
negative. The world itself however lies at every turn. Telling lies is an unavoidable
aspect of human nature, and it begins at a very young age. Research conducted on
lying at Toronto University in Canada showed that about 20% of  2-year-olds lie,
but by age 4, this percentage increases to 90%. (Kang Lee, 2013). And lying
continues even after we become adults. Therefore, I am against the opinion that a
world where humans don’t lie is a better world for two main reasons.//Firstly, the
ability to lie is a natural function of the brain. It is similar to the experience of first
hearing that voice within one's head and then exploring that nobody else can hear it.
This is the phase right before one learns to lie or deceive. We are able to decide
whether to share what happened or not. We debate it with ourselves.  Eventually,
we develop the skill of telling a good story instead of the truth. In the biological
perspective, each individual is at war against all others. Thus viewed, lying is the
fundamental trait for survival and, hence, the driving force of evolution. More
specifically, despite being adults, we still tell lies on a daily basis. We exaggerate
our resumes, deceive people we love, lie to avoid hurting others, and even lie to
ourselves to preserve our sanity. Even though integrity and honesty are virtues, it is
practically impossible to thrive in society without some distortion of the truth. We
are merely social creatures and we must lie in order to keep the social aspect of our
life going smoothly.///Secondly, people tend to concern more about whether you
have good intentions than whether you are being honest or not. According to
research, lies with a "prosocial" motive—those meant to help others—can actually
increase interpersonal trust (Emma E. Levine, 2015). Prosocial deception serves a
variety of social purposes. While many prosocial lies are motivated by an altruistic
desire to keep relational partners safe, or provide help to others, other lies have both
prosocial and selfish purposes. For example, instead of telling an employee that
they are simply not qualified for the task, you might consider saying “Don’t be so
worry. It takes a while to catch up with other employees. How about getting some
coaching from your manager over in accounting?”. It is evident that if mastered
correctly, lying in such cases will in turn benefit your business in the long run.  
In conclusion, we may all be liars, but that does not imply the world has gone to the
dogs and we will all burn in hell. Lying and language become interconnected in a
never-ending co-evolutionary cycle, which change the map of communicative
interactions within communities and contributing to the creation of our languages,
cultures, cognitions, and emotions. We evolved to lie. And if people stopped lying
to another, this society would not function as smoothly as it was supposed to.

This can lead to the confirmation bias, where young individuals predominantly encounter
information that aligns with their existing views, potentially hindering critical thinking and
open-mindedness. The problem will be more dangerous for young who have limited
experience in evaluating sources, to discern between reliable and questionable information.
Another examples, algorithms often personalize content based on users' browsing history and
preferences, reinforcing existing beliefs and limiting exposure to diverse perspectives.

Another critical issue arising from the reliance on the Internet as the primary source of advice
is the absence of personal connection and individualized guidance. While the Internet provides
a vast array of information, it lacks the empathetic and context-specific nature of guidance
provided by parental figures and trusted individuals. Parental figures, for instance, possess an
intimate understanding of a young person's unique circumstances, values with the desire of
bringing the best things for their children that has developed through years of familial bonds.
This deep understanding enables them to provide advice that is specifically tailored to the
individual's situation. Moreover, parental figures and trusted individuals offer a crucial
element of emotional support such as reassurance, empathy, and a sense of security during
challenging that is often lacking in online interactions. They can foster a safe space for open
and honest discussions, allowing for the exploration of nuanced topics and the development of
problem-solving skills. In contrast, online interactions may lack the depth of emotional
connection necessary for effective guidance, and the impersonal nature of digital platforms can
limit the extent to which emotional support can be effectively conveyed.

By relying solely on the Internet for advice, youth may miss out on the invaluable benefits that
personal connections and individualized guidance offer. The absence of tailored advice and
emotional support in online interactions may leave young individuals feeling disconnected,
misunderstood, and less equipped to navigate complex situations. Thus, it is important to
recognize the unique role that parental figures and trusted individuals play in providing
personalized advice and emotional support, and to encourage a balanced approach that
integrates the insights gained from online resources with the guidance provided by trusted
individuals.

effectively address the issue without resorting to capital punishment. Additionally, opponents
question the effectiveness of the death penalty as a deterrent. They argue that comprehensive food

products highlights the need for a comprehensive approach that balances appropriate punishment,
preventive measures, and the promotion of education and awareness. Critics advocate for a system
that addresses the issue holistically, focusing on effective regulations, inspections, and education,
rather than relying solely on punitive measures that may be seen as disproportionate and fail to
address the underlying causes of unsafe food production and trading.

17. Is peer pressure harmful or beneficial to individuals?

nderstanding the benefits of this dynamic is one of the keys to determining the drawbacks. A
notable upside is that peer pressure may motivate young people into discovering new interests
that they may not have considered otherwise. After seeing photos of their peers at the gym, an
adolescent might feel encouraged to take part in similar physical exercises, which is helpful
for their physical health in turn. The same can apply to academic performance, where young
people may be positively influenced to work hard and keep up with their peers. Without a
sense of competition, it can be difficult to let the most brilliant and diligent students in a class
shine.///However, the drawbacks of peer pressure far outweigh the gains. Peer pressure can, in
a way, evoke a sense of isolation or exclusion among young individuals should

this happens in a classroom, the student affected by this feeling is likely to experience a
deterioration in mental health, affecting their grades, for instance. Furthermore, as much as

as well. For a teenager who makes the mistake of hanging around with the wrong crowd, said
adolescent is easily egged on to engage in inappropriate behavior such as smoking
and underage drinking. Worse, they might attempt to bring severe consequences upon
themselves by dropping out of school, taking drugs or committing delinquencies. Hence, it
could be argued that the issues caused by peer pressure offset whatever advantage

18. In 21st century, critical thinking is considered the second most important life
skill after interpersonal skill. Thus the subject should be introduced to all levels of
national education.
In the fast-paced and information-driven 21st century, critical thinking has emerged as a skill of
utmost importance, closely following interpersonal skills. Personally, I agree that critical thinking
should be integrated into all levels of national education, as it possibly ( weaselers) provides
learners with a valuable, wide-ranging set of tools to thrive in the modern world. Firstly,
Interpersonal skills involving effective communication, empathy, and collaboration, have long
been recognized as fundamental for success in personal and professional relationships. However,

interpersonal skills can truly flourish as it equips individuals with the capacity to evaluate
information critically, identify logical fallacies, analyze complex situations, and making well-
reasoned judgments. Secondly, The introduction of critical thinking as a subject in national
education offers a structured framework to teach students the necessary skills and techniques to
think critically. Studies in the last five years ( Proof Surrogate ) have showed that students
exposed to activities that encourage curiosity, and the exploration of different perspectives from

institutions could adopt alternative methods that prioritize a more holistic approach to admissions.
Firstly, One alternative approach gaining momentum is a comprehensive review of an applicant's
academic record, extracurricular activities, personal essays, letters of recommendation, and
interviews. This method allows admissions committees to consider the whole person rather than

passions, and character, colleges gain a deeper understanding of their unique qualities and

specialized education. Moreover, studies during last five years has showed that individuals
with a college degree on average tend to earn higher salaries compared to those without a
degree with a level of more than twenty percents ( proof Surrogate) . Secondly, college
provides opportunities to build a network of peers, professors, and alumni, which can be
valuable for future career prospects for the fact that connections made during college can lead
to internships, job referrals, and mentorship opportunities. Although( downplayer ), college
training can be expensive, and student loan debt is a significant concern for many individuals,
It's also crucial to consider the costs, financial aid options, scholarships, and potential return
on investment. In conclusion, I believe that it is an appropriate decision to participate in

26. Developing AI systems should be treated as a crime against humanity.


The development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) systems have sparked
unprecedented widespread debates ( hyberbole) regarding their ethical implications. Personally I
partly contend that Al operating as “ potential crime “ ( rhe definition) regardless of its
advanatages. Although( downplayer), AI can bring immense benefits to humanity from healthcare
advancements to environmental sustainability and scientific breakthroughs, its consequences are
tremendous. To begin with, Al can raise the issue of the exacerbation of existing social and
economic inequalities as advancement of AI systems could widen the gap between those with
access to these technologies and those without. If AI becomes a privilege of a select few, it could
deepen societal divisions, marginalize disadvantaged populations, and perpetuate systemic
injustices. Moreover, There is an inherent uncertainty surrounding the long-term effects of AI on
society, the economy, and individual autonomy. Concerns about job displacement, the erosion of
privacy, and the potential loss of human decision-making capabilities loom large in discussions
about AI. Critics argue that prioritizing AI development without comprehensive ethical
frameworks could undermine our fundamental values and compromise the very essence of what it
means to be human. In conclusion, Al is a concerning complex issues nowadays and we need to
balancing the need for innovation with responsible development and ethical safeguards harness
the transformative power of AI.

27. In recent years in Vietnam, on Earth Hours, more and more youth join in the
“Turn off the lights, light up the future” campaign. Back to daily life, students leave
lights, fans, and air conditioners on when they leave class. Is Vietnamese young people’s
concern on environmental issues superficial?
Vietnamese young people's commitment to environmental issues has been a unprecedented
controversial discussion ( hyperbole) in recent years. Personally, I believe that their concern is
above the superficial level. Firstly, young Vietnamese people are actively participating in
environmental initiatives on the ground. Studies in 2022 have showed that ( proof surrogate)
participation rate in tree planting campaigns, beach clean-ups, and recycling drives has increase
20 percentage compared to 2 years ago. Secondly, Vietnamese youth are increasingly seeking
environmental education and knowledge. They attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to
learn about the complexities of environmental challenges and sustainable solutions. By acquiring
knowledge about climate change, pollution, and conservation, they are equipping themselves with
the tools necessary to make informed decisions and advocate for change. Last but not least, young
people in Vietnam are pushing for policy changes and reforms. They are actively engaging with
policymakers, joining environmental organizations, and lobbying for stricter environmental
regulations. Through their persistent efforts, they are influencing decision-makers and pushing for
a more sustainable future. While some young people possibly( weasler) initially engage with
environmental issues on a superficial level, many of them evolve into more committed advocates
over time. As they deepen their understanding and gain firsthand experiences, their concern for
the environment becomes more profound and meaningful. In short, it is unfair to dismiss their
overall concern as superficial via exceptional cases through their proven dedicating actions.

28. It’s impossible to nurture passion in teenagers as they do not have enough
knowledge and experience to say exactly what their future will be.
Nurturing passion in teenagers can indeed be an unprecedented challenging task( hyperbole).
However I believe that it is possible to expect teenagers to possess a clear-cut understanding of
their future and the passion they wish to pursue.To begin with, Teenagers possess a remarkable
capacity for curiosity and enthusiasm, which can be harnessed to ignite and nurture their
passions. At this stage of life, they are not burdened by the same constraints and preconceptions
that adults often face so they are more open to experimentation, eager to learn, and willing to take
risks. Moreover, although( downplayer) some concern that the limited exposure to the
complexities of life and the professional world can hinder teenagers' ability to accurately predict
their future, it can be seen as an advantage as teenagers are not confined by preconceived notions
or societal expectations, allowing them to think outside the box and pursue unconventional paths.
Moreover, adults and mentors can play a crucial role in nurturing passion in teenagers by
providing guidance, support, and mentorship to teenagers identify their strengths, uncover their
interests, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves together with meaningful
conversations about sharing personal experience and offering resources, adults can inspire and
motivate teenagers to explore their passions further. In short, while teenagers may lack extensive
knowledge and experience, it is possible( weaseler) to develop a deep sense of passion for their
pursuits.
