In-Depth Discussion for Teacher

A. What do you notice in the way your students answer

their modules?

1. They need more mastery in learning to answer the

modules. They use other sources to answer.

2. I have noticed that most of the students answer

their module during pandemic they don’t even read

and understand the questions carefully, they only

refer to the answer key only.

3. Some of them only refer to the answer key written at

the back of the modules. But there are those who

studied and researched specially in essay-type

question

4. During the pandemic, the way the students answer

their modules were mostly based on the answer keys

provided in the module.

5. Students answered their modules by relying their

answers on the answer key. But there are some

students, answering their modules by means of

research, analyzing the problem carefully so that

they can answer the questions correctly, and

understand the lesson.

B. As a teacher what are the struggles you faced during

Modular Distance Learning?

1. Lack of time to teach. And the mastery of learning

is sometimes compromised.

2. As a Teacher I had many struggles during modular

learning especially before releasing of modules by

section at the same time returning especially

sorting and segregating the module s per-subject and

subject Teacher every week.

3. Students not learning anything since most of the

believed that answering the modules is enough. Also,

others who were actually studying the lessons can

only retain their learnings for a short period of

time due to lack of reinforcement.

4. I struggled how to identify each learner, for the

reason that we cannot meet their personally. I find

hard time to know who are really a bright student

and who are not. Another is the updated returning of

module.

5. The teachers difficulty in preparing the required

instructional modules, time management concerns and

difficulty in securing students modules as well as

checking the accomplished modules/outputs.

C. Does late returning of modules affect the academic

performance of students?

1. Yes, our assessment of students is also affected

2. Maybe, for me late returning of modules affect the

academic performance of the students because sometimes

there are students returned their modules late are not

complete don.

3. Yes

4. No, ( as long as they answer their modules correctly)

5. Yes, Teachers cannot assess right away the performance

of the students together with the other students.

D. How does Modular Distance affect your way of teaching

to your students?

1. It challenged me to become a better teacher since we

cannot personally see our students and monitor them about

their progress closely.

2. it affects hundred percent (100%) because as a teacher

also I can’t explain carefully the topic to the students

I want to teach or discuss.

3. since MDL was practiced for two years, during the

return of face-to-face classes, I need to study and

review my lessons to improve my teaching skills. It is

“back to zero” for us teachers.

4. Modular distance has positive and negative effects to

way of teaching. The teacher can have a relaxed time

working without discussion but, with the absence of this

you cannot teach well the students.

5. the interest, goal setting and level of aspiration are

the factors affecting teaching related to learners.

Learners always asking what all about the lesson for they

do not understand what’s on the modules.

E How did you show your support to your students in their

learning process?

1. I encourage them to strive hard are use advertise as

opportunities to build their character.

2. I will show my support to my student by way of

motivating them.
3. As a teacher, I believe that all lesson needs to be

taught in an actual classroom setting. I teach the lesson

and reinforce the topics especially in the parts that

they find difficult so that they will understand the

lesson making it easy for them.

4. I give an update to their advisers, I give

instructions in order that they will accomplish their

tasks, outputs, or projects correctly.

5. By means of answering their quizzes, giving them

advise and always monitor the status of their learning.

F. What are your expectations to your students after they

graduated in Senior High School?

1. students are empowered and motivated to make progress

in their learning they will be equipped with skills that

will prepare for their future whether it be in enjoyment,

entrepreneurship, tech-voc training or higher education.

2. I expect them to be well rounded individuals, I wish

them all the success in life.

3. As a teacher I expect more to my students after they

graduated Senior High school. That they will proceed to

college taking their specialized course, pursue and focus

to their dreams and goals they want to achieve in life

and to be a better and successful individual.

4. Continue their college studies, graduate and

contribute good things to our society.

5. The students of this school will become successful

someday and be more competent in the next battle of their

career in college. I hope they will crave for more

knowledge and apply it in their life and success.

In-Depth Discussion for Students

A. What are your struggles during Modular Learning

1. When I was in SHS , modular learning approach is

undeniably difficult for slow learners, or those who

struggle to understand the given modules and should only

applied to independent learners. I’m used to have face to

face class and now we are adjusting to modular/online

class which is hassle because of lack of instant

communication between teacher and a student, when

learning takes place in a virtual environment (don't have

a stable internet connection)also students learning

challenges can be exacerbated because it allows us to

employ self-learning.

2. Modular learning for me is a little difficult

especially we are the first batch to enter college after

pandemic, that means you only need stock knowledge in

order to survive. One of my struggles is entering college

and having a hard time coping with the lessons because

the teachings of some instructors is fast. I still prefer

face to face classes instead of modular learning.

3. I think the biggest struggle when doing modular

learning is the fact that it is really hard to get used

to new concepts and skills. The first time you learn

something new, it feels like your brain is going to

explode because there are so many things happening at

once.

4. Can’t understand or inability to comprehend the

lessons

5. Staying motivated and disciplined is tough without a

traditional classroom structure. Time management and

avoiding distractions are major challenges.

6. Unable to focus on answering because there are also

household chores that need to be taken care of and it is

difficult to self-study.

7. My struggles during modular learning are it's hard to

understand the lessons because the teacher doesn't really

discuss them personally, especially the major subjects

like research paper and it's difficult for me to self-

study without the help or guide of a teacher.

8. My struggles during modular learning are I can't learn

just by myself but because of modular learning, I am

forced to stand by myself and learn by myself, using many

methods to learn such as watching videos on YouTube or

surfing relevant information on the internet.

9. Financial difficulties, personal concerns,

technological concerns, peer pressures, health concerns,

and legal issues were cited as reasons for learners'

modular distance learning challenges. In addition,

financial difficulties were either work-imposed or self-

imposed. Students have been affected psychologically by

school closures, lack of equipment to participate in

courses, being unable to access online materials from

home and being unable to leave home for a long time.

10. The struggles that I encounter during modular

learning is the time management, lack of communication

and being unable to access online materials.

11. I struggled with modular learning because of

insufficient instructions that was due to the limitations

of the modular learning system.

12. Internet Connection

13. Financial difficulties, personal concerns,

technological concerns, peer pressures, health concerns,

and legal issues were cited as reasons for learners'

modular distance learning challenges.

14. Self-discipline and Limited structure and guidance.

B. Is your environment at home make you comfortable

during the modular distance learning?

1. No.It’s hard to concentrate at home during distance

learning because of the noise coming from your relatives,

transportation etc. Which a little bit hindrance to

focus. I don't feel motivated to do my modules since

there's nobody to talk about it unlike at school there's

a teacher to ask and a classmates /friend to rely on.

2. At some point yes, because I can do all my school

works at my own pace.

3. Yes, my environment at home is very comfortable during

the modular distance learning. I can study anywhere and

anytime by using my laptop. I can also study with friends

or family members if I want to do so. This is because

there are many places that have internet connection in my

area. So, I am able to study wherever I want to.

4. sometimes

5. It varies. A peaceful study space helps, but a chaotic

setting with distractions can make it harder to focus.

6. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I can only focus properly

at night because there is no noise and no disturbance.

Unlike in the morning, many children are noisy and

shouting.
7. Yes, I can focus on making modules in my room and I

can do it well while by myself.

8. Our environment at home, sometimes make me not

comfortable during the modular distance learning because

of the noise caused by music.

9. No, Sometimes I get annoyed by children sometimes I

get distracted by the tv and sometimes it's peaceful.

10. yes

11. It was fairly comfortable, yet it also came with its

own problems mainly because the environment at home is

not conducive to learning process.

12.yes

13. Homes, like schools, can help children by providing

material that is organized in a way that it can be easily

assimilated into the child's cognitive model.

14. no

15. No.It’s hard to concentrate at home during distance

learning because of the noise coming from your relatives,

transportation etc. Which a little bit hindrance to

focus. I don't feel motivated to do my modules since

there's nobody to talk about it unlike at school there's

schools, can help children by providing material that is

the child's cognitive model

C. Are you an academic awardee in Senior High School? If

YES, are you still an academic awardee in college? If NO,

are you an academic awardee now in college?

1. Yes ,I'm academic awardee in Senior Highschool and now

I'm hoping that I can be that in my college journey .

2. yes, but I don't know this college since I haven't

passed my COG to our dean during our first semester.

3.y es, I am still an academic awardee in my Senior High

School. No, I am not an academic awardee now in college.

4. yes, I am but not in college.

5. Nope, not me. But awards don't define your worth as a

student. It's about giving your best and striving for

improvement.

6. Yes, but I'm not sure if I will have an academic award

in college.

7. Yes, l am academic awardee in Senior High School but

but not in college anymore.

8. No, it’s not helpful because lacked a lot of knowledge

when I came to college, especially in the program I took

it didn't help.

9. Yes, I am an academic awardee in senior high but so

far, I don't have any academic awards now that I am in

college. 10. yes

11. no

12. I was an Academic awardee of "With Honors" during my

Senior High School. During my First Year of College, I

wasn't able to continue this achievement, primarily

because the Environment of the Home Residence is not the

Same as the Environment of an Education Institute. But I

was able to achieve an Academic Award of "Dean's List

Award" this second Year.

13. Senior High: YES College: 1st Sem- NO 2nd Sem- not

yet computed

14. No or may be. The Academic Excellence Award is

conferred on a student whose academic performance during

the year demonstrates remarkable consistency at the

highest level of achievement

15. Yes ,I'm academic awardee in Senior Highschool and

now I'm hoping that I can be that in my college journey

D. Does the modular learning help you cope up in your

college performance? If YES, in what ways? If NO, how

does it affect your college performance?

1.Yes it really helps to be independent in your study and

somehow it helps to improve your self-concentration and

many more.

2. I think the modular learning is helpful in coping up

in my college performance because I can adjust my

studying time based on my course schedule. I also get to

learn more about the subjects that I'm taking and it

helps me to keep up with the topics that I'm studying

for.
3. No, the teaching style and the environment affect the

most

4. It's a mixed bag. It offers flexibility for studying

at your own pace, but requires self-motivation and

organization. It can help with understanding complex

topics or hinder if you struggle with discipline.

5. There were many missed opportunities that could have

helped me in college such as sharpening my self-

confidence and there were activities at SHS that I had

never experienced. As well as experiencing out.

6. No, it’s not helpful because lacked a lot of knowledge

when I came to college, especially in the program I took

it didn't help.

7. Modular learning doesn't help me cope up in my college

performance because I don't have that much learning and

it does affect my college performance. There are times

that I am not confident with my answer, asking myself if

it is right or wrong.

8. One of the benefits of using modules for instruction

is the acquisition of better self-study or learning

skills among students.

9. No, it’s had a big impact on my college performance

because of lack of learning during pandemic.

10. I would say that modular Learning was able to bridge

the difficulties of Education during the pandemic, and it

was able to help me cope up with college to an extent.

But it was not able to prepare us for the difficulties of

the College Level.

11. YES, it has taught me to be independent in terms of

doing an activity.

12. No because one of the most significant impacts of

modular learning on students is that it increases their

engagement and motivation in the classroom

13. Yes, because I learned to self-study and manage time

14. Yes it really helps to be independent in your study

and somehow it helps to improve your self-concentration

and many more.

15. No, it affects my learning because the teacher’s

teaching in self-study is still different.

E. Does your chosen course affect your academic

performance in college? Why or why not?

1. No, because I chose my course according to what I can

do and somehow, I love this course no matter what .I just

need to do my best and enjoy and I think it can't

negatively affect my academic performance in college.

2. now it doesn't affect my academic performance in

choosing my course. The struggles are worth it and I'm

happy with it.

3. Yes, it affects my academic performance in college.

The reason is that I can learn the things that I want to

learn through this course. You can not only prepare for

your future career, but also study and learn new things.
4. slow to catch up lessons

5. Definitely! If you're passionate and interested, it's

easier to stay motivated and excel. Conversely,

disinterest can make it hard to stay engaged and perform

well. Choose a course aligned with your interests for

better performance.

6. Maybe not, because I have some knowledge that will

help me to get through the struggles that I will face

7. Yes, because the course I chose is not really my first

choice but I can handle it and still studying properly,

it's just hard to come up with the lessons because I

don't fully like it but l'm trying and maybe this is my

luck I just need to love it.

8. Yes, it does affect my academic performance because

some lessons that my teachers discussed in senior high

was mentioned and tackled in college.

9. Academic achievement is important for the successful

development of young people in society. Students who do

well in school are better able to make the transition

into adulthood and to achieve occupational and economic

success. 10. Yes, same with the answer on #4 its very

difficult for me to learn some of my lesson in my chosen

course because I need time to adjust.

11. I would say the Course taken has little to no effect

on the academic performance of a student, because at the

end of the day the performance of a student is mainly

dependent on only themselves.

12. It boost my will to learn because this course that I

am currently taking is what I really want.

13. May be because these factors may include job

opportunity, preferred course of the parents, peer's

influence and personal choice of course. Students will

have a higher percentage of having a great job with a

great salary.

14. Yes, as my current course is aligned with my college

strand. and some of the topics in my course are

comparable. 15. No, because I chose my course according

to what I can do and somehow, I love this course no

matter what .I just need to do my best and enjoy and I

think it can't negatively affect my academic performance

in college.
