DEFINITION
Descriptive text is a text that explains what a person, place, or thing is
like, often providing a visual experience through the use of adjectives
and adverbs (adalah sebuah teks yang memberikan penjelasan /
deskripsi mengenai seseorang, tempat, atau hal - hal lain seperti
binatang, benda, tanaman, sering berisikan pengalaman visual penulis
yang diungkapkan dengan menggunakan kata sifat serta kata
keterangan.)

PURPOSE OF THE TEXT (TUJUAN TEXT)


1. To describe person, thing or place in specific (untuk mendeskripsilan
seseorang, hal/ benda, atau tempat secara spesifik)
2. To describe a particular person, thing or place. (untuk
mendeskripsikan seseorang, hal/ benda, atau tempat tertentu)

GENERIC STRUCTURE OF THE TEXT


. Identification
contains about the introduction of a person, place, animal or object will
be described (berisikan pengenalan dari subjek yang akan di
deskripsikan
example:
"I have a pet. It is a dog. My uncle gave me when it was still a little
one. I called it Pom Pom because its fur is so fluffy. I really like playing
with Pom Pom. "
GENERIC STRUCTURE OF THE TEXT
2. Description
contains a description of something such as animal, things, place or
person by decribing its features, forms, colors, or anything related to what
the writer describe (berisikan deskripsi secara detail mengenai subjek
dari teks tersebut. Bisa diberikan deskripsi tentang ciri - ciri, bentuk,
warna atau apapun yang berhubungan dengan apa yang dideskripsikan
penulis.
example:
"Pom Pom is a Chihuahua dog. Its body is so small and cute. It is really
like a dog doll. It has white, fluffy, and soft fur. Pom Pom eyes are small
and brown. It likes wagging its little tail when it feels so excited."

LANGUAGE FEATURE OF THE TEXT


1. Specific participant : has a certain object, is not common and unique
(only one). for example: Bandengan beach, my house, Borobudur temple,
uncle Jim, My dog Pom Pom
2. The use of the adjective (an adjective) to clarify the noun, for example:
a beautiful beach, a handsome man, the famous place in jepara, etc.
3. The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used is simple
present because it tells the fact of the object described.
4. Action verb: verbs that show an activity (for example, run, sleep, walk,
cut etc)
