Decalogo Multimeter

This document provides 10 steps for using a multimeter to take electrical measurements. It explains that a multimeter can measure resistance, voltage, current, and can test diodes and continuity. It details how to select the correct measurement function, where to connect the test leads for different measurements, and interpretations of the readings. The overall document provides a basic guide to using a multimeter for fundamental electrical measurements.

STEP 3

If we look at the multitester we

can see that it has a screen, an
on and off selector (according to
the parameter to be used) in this
we can find resistance (ohm
symbol), alternating voltage (va),
continuous voltage (vc) and direct
current ( dca)

STEP 4

Before using the multitester to

see if it is in good condition,
turn it on by removing the
selector from the off state, and
taking it towards the parameter of
a diode, the ends of the
previously connected wires will
join and the multimeter will give
a value close to 1 and/or it would
produce a sound (beeeeep)
depending on the description of
the instrument

Step 6
To measure resistance, it is measured in parallel
and without current, and taking the selector
where it has the ohm Ω parameter.
Step 7
To measure voltage, first it is divided into two scales: continuous voltage (VC) and
alternating voltage (VA), to differentiate a house network has alternating voltage and
continuous batteries, second we will move the selector to the parameter V is
measured in parallel and with current
Step 8
To measure current, first select the
parameter in the selector then you
will have to interrupt the circuit by
disconnecting one of its screws and
then occupy each of the multitester
wires to close it and so the current
passes through it, if we are going to
measure a weak current we will use
the hole with the V whip but if we
are going to measure a high current
we will use the 10A one, it is
measured in series and with current
Step 9
to prove that a diode, cable or
electronic component is in good
condition we will use the continuity
measure
Step 10
Continuity is measured by placing the two
ends of the wires at each end of the
electrical component and the multitester
will sound. this could be used for know if a
cable is broken.
