Learning Outcome:

This assignment is designed to test the following learning outcomes:

LO1 - Explain the knowledge areas that a project encounters during its phases and how they are
crucial and vital to the success of a project.

Guidelines:

• Assignment deadline: on 14th May 2023 at 7.00 p.m (19:00)


• Answer all questions.
• The total maximum mark attainable is 100.
• Students shall work individually to accomplish the given tasks.
• Plagiarism, cheating, or collusion is regarded as a serious breach of the academic standards.
Students must carefully read the Academic Rules on Plagiarism, Cheating and Collusion in
Student’s Handbook. Zero tolerances for such cases and “0” marks will be given for the whole
assignment.

Question 01

Zanrich Tea Exports (Pvt) Ltd is an emerging company in the tea and food export industry.
The subject company, strive to be recognised as the market leader in Tea export products of the
island from 10 years’ time. The company’s portfolios, programs, and projects are aligned with /
driven by organisational strategies to achieve aforementioned target and differ in the way each
contribute to the achievement of strategic goals. Under the Manufacturing and Operation Support
Programs, the “Construction of Proposed Tea Packaging Facility at Awissawella” is to be initiated
as a one project. Proposed factory is to be set at vacant land plot in Seethawaka Export Processing
Zone which is governed by Board of Investment of Sri Lanka.
The proposed project is to be mainly served for packaging of tea to protect the tea products from
outside environment especially after the completion of process so that tea can retain flavor, aroma,
freshness for a longer period. Proposed factory project’s functional units serve for the packaging
process ; primary, secondary, tertiary packaging with labelling and storage.
1. Differentiate the construction of tea packaging facility project and packaging of tea
products process with regards to attributes of each.

(30 marks)

2. Identify the basic phases of project life cycle for the above project and list out
stakeholders who may engaged in each phase.

(15 marks)
3. Categorize the identified stakeholders based on the relationship to the project and briefly
describe the roles of them.

(25 marks)

4. Describe the adoption of stakeholder management process for the particular project.

(30 marks)
