Dance Exercise Mechanics and Guidelines

The dance competition will be held on June 16, 2023 at Ditumabo National High School Covered Court, with a call time of 3pm for participants. Each section can enter 15-20 members wearing white t-shirts, pants, and shoes. Groups will be judged on choreography (40%), mastery and execution (30%), choice of music and costumes (20%), and audience impact (10%). Performances must not exceed 5 minutes and be wholesome without suggestive content. Prizes will be awarded to the champion, first runner-up, second runner-up, third runner-up, and consolation winner.

DANCE EXERCISE MECHANICS & GUIDELINES

1. The competition will be held on June 16, 2023, at Ditumabo National High School Covered Court. Call time for the participants
is at 3pm.

2. Each participating section is entitled to enter a maximum of 15-20 members. The props men must wear white t-shirt, pants, and
shoes.

3. Each shall be complete during the presentation. Not complete because of absence will have 2 points deduction in total score.

4. The order of performances will be based on the number they had picked prior to the presentation.

5. Music and choreography should be wholesome and lively and must not contain any subliminal, sexually suggestive, and vulgar
lyrics/language or suggestive acts. Choreographers are not allowed inside the school during practices and to teach or coach on the
performance day.

6. The group performance should contain at least 60% modernized/stylized music in fast modern tempo.

7. The entire duration of the performance must not exceed FIVE (5) minutes, exclusive of 30 seconds pre-setting and 30 seconds
exit/pack-up and clean-up.

8. Use of props will be allowed if it will not cause any delay and harm to the performance of the group.

9. Appropriate clothing/costume should be observed during the presentation. Attire may include accessories such as hats, caps,
gloves, scarves, jewelries, etc. removing pieces of clothing during the performance is allowed if it is not offensive or out of the
character.

10. Appropriate action should be observed during the performance.

11. Criteria for judging:

Choreography 40%

Mastery and Execution 30%

Choice of Music and Costumes 20%

Audience Impact 10%

TOTAL 100%

12. A panel of judges shall determine the winners based on the foregoing criteria. Any violation of the foregoing rules may be
used as a ground for disqualification or otherwise cause the appropriate point deduction on the final score. The decision of the
panel shall be final.
