Foundation for Women Warriors exists to serve women veterans and their children so
that their next mission is clear and continues to impact the world. Our programs

Nearly 6 years has passed since our rebrand and restructure here at Foundation for
Women Warriors. As we reflect upon those years, I am truly in awe of how much
we, together, have accomplished during this time and especially in this past year.
While we take stock of our success in this year’s impact report, we remain keenly in
tune with the challenges that lie ahead. Our veterans are dealing with the long-
existing transition challenges, lingering impacts of the pandemic, inflation, and
looming threats of a recession. Our programs allow women veterans to thrive in
spite of these obstacles.
It is truly your support that allows us to solve the problems of today, and
proactively address tomorrow’s issues.
On the behalf of our team, board, and the women veterans we serve, Thank you!
With gratitude,
Jodie M. Grenier

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Through our Financial Assistance Programs, FFWW helps women veterans alleviate
financial hardship by offsetting critical costs and equipping our veterans with the
knowledge and tools to provide a stable financial future for their families.
In response to the increasing need within our women veteran community we doubled
our warehouse space and thanks to our generous community, our shelves were filled
with household essentials ranging from diapers and wipes, clothing, household
supplies and kitchen utensils.
Our Warehouse Distributions provide women veterans with the essentials free of
charge, further helping to offset the rising costs such as rent and utilities. Since opening
our warehouse, our distributions served over 600 veteran women and children,
provided essential resources for their families, and served as a warm introduction to
our financial assistance programming for new clients.
Upon transitioning out of the military, many women veterans report they lack a
professional network and often do not feel part of a community. Our Connect with
Community program is dedicated to establishing a sense of sisterhood through
interactive personal and professional development workshops and events.
In April 2022, women veteran participants met via Zoom and in person for three days
of personal and professional development, connecting with fellow military women as
well as our partners at HP, Google, Accenture, and many more. Sessions focused on
negotiating salary, communicating strengths, and translating military experience.
Following our CWC workshops, FFWW launched “Summer of Self Care” meditation,
mindfulness, and self-advocacy personal development sessions led by Dr. Shayna
Kauffman. These sessions equip women veterans with the tools to enhance their
resilience and overcome the stress associated with making the military to civilian
transition.
While we provide critical programming to enhance the personal and economic wellbeing of women veterans,
we simultaneously work to improve the post-military transition for the next generation of women veterans.
Over the past several years FFWW has:
Delivered Congressional testimony on the behalf of women veterans’ economic and transition wellbeing
twice resulting in:
Increased funding for homeless veterans with dependents in H.R. 8247 (116th): Veterans COMPACT
Act of 2020 that was then signed into law in December 2020.
The introduction of the Transition Improvement by Estimating Risk Act, to determine service
member transition pathways based on new criteria such as childcare needs, the employment status
of other household members, the servicemember’s duty station location, the effects of operating
tempo and personnel tempo on the servicemember.
Advocated for and received approval from the California Department of Veteran Affairs and the
California Department of Motor Vehicles to issue the first state of California women veterans license
plate decal (currently pending production and delivery).
Delivered virtual documentary screenings nationwide mobilizing support to finally recognize the women
veterans of 6888th with a Congressional Gold Medal.
Assisted in the renaming of the San Diego VA Medical Facility to honor Army Captain Jennifer Moreno
who during Operation Enduring Freedom was killed in action.
Provided Department of Veteran Affairs Secretary McDonough with feedback on how to further improve
VA services for women through anonymous feedback from our women veterans’ survey.
