Q1. When will be the admissions given for ODL or OL programs?

Ans: As per UGC guidelines, admissions will be done twice in a year.


Academic Year batch (July – June of Next year) and Calendar Year batch
(January – December). Notification for respective batches will be given in
June/July and December/January.
Q2. Is it possible to Join UG and PG programs without any basic
Qualifications?
Ans: No. For UG admission 10+2 course of study and for PG 10+2+3 is a must
Q3. Is it required to visit University personally for admission?

Ans: No. As Andhra University adapted completed automation from entry to


exit, learners can join from anywhere in India or Abroad through online.
The learner enrollment form can be accessed
using www.andhrauniversity-sde.com . Fill in your details, attach all
required scanned copies of original documents/certificates, and make a
fee payment online. Just submit your application.
Q4. How do I know that my admission got confirmed?

Ans: Once the Learner enrollment form is submitted, you will receive a
message about the confirmation of submission of the form. After
thorough scrutinization by the University team, admission will be
confirmed and a Registered Number (ID No.) message will be sent to the
registered mobile number along with the Login and password details to
Learner Portal.

Q5. What are the eligibility criteria to study in Open and Distance
Learning (ODL) or On-Line (OL)?

Ans: Yes. For admission into ODL or OL program, one must satisfy the
eligibility criteria specified in the UGC Notification on the specification
of Degrees - 2014 for all programs. Eligibility for different programs is
also placed on the website www.andhrauniversity-sde.com
Q6. What programs are on offer?

Ans: The school of Distance Education is offering a wide range of programs at


UG and PG levels along with Certificate, Diploma, and PG Diplomas
programs. For details please visit the website.

Q7. Can I design a special program of study to suit my particular needs?

Ans: No. As Andhra University is offering a wide range of programs, you can
choose a suitable program from among the available list.

Q8. Can I change my intended program of study in the middle of the total
program duration? For example, from a science degree to a Social
degree during my study through distance mode.

Ans: No
Q9. How long does a course last?

Ans: As per the UGC Guidelines, the maximum period of study is double the
minimum duration for the particular program. For Ex. UG, the minimum
duration is 3 years so the maximum will be 6 years. PG minimum 2 years
so the maximum will be 4 years
Q10. How do I know if I am eligible of studying ODL or OL programs?

Ans: Eligibility criteria for all programs as per UGC guidelines are placed on
the SDE website.
Q11. When will I attend the end examinations?

Ans. All the details are given in the Academic Calendar and continuous
updates will come through the Learner login Portal for all Learners.
Q12. Does whether University provides the Study materials?

Ans: Distance learning students receive Self Learning Material (SLM) both in
print and soft copies form. Soft copies are provided through the
Learner Portal dedicated to the service of all learners. If any student
wants to have physical books, they have to submit a special request by
making a prescribed fee through their Login portal.

Q13. Will I meet other learners when I study through Distance mode?
Ans: Yes. Learners can meet and interact with co-learners during face-to-face
contact programs organized by the University.

Q14. Will my distance degree be recognized?


Ans: Programs offered by the School of Distance Education, Andhra
University are entitled by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB),
University Grants Commission (UGC), and Programs entitled by UGC
DEB are automatically on par with the regular degrees and eligible for
higher studies as well as State and Central Govt. Employment.

Q15. In case of any clarification whom to contact in the SDE?


Ans: Contact details are given on the website. Also, learners can send mail

Q16. How to know information about academic details like fees,


materials, results, etc.?
Ans: A dedicated Learner Portal is made available to Distance mode learners
through which they can access all information related to Academic
schedules, Internal Assignments, Examinations, Results, etc.

Q17. Does whether University has dedicated staff for programs?

Ans: A team of dedicated faculty and Academic Coordinators always guide


the students to complete their course of study without any difficulty.
Q18. What are the technical courses are offered through Distance
mode?

Ans : As per UGC guidelines, no technical programs are offered through


distance mode

Q19. Is it possible to pursue M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs through


distance mode?

Ans : No.

Q20. What is the policy on refund in case of cancellation of admission?
