CASSETTE FANS

Part 1 General

1.1 DESCRIPTION

A. Provide Cassette Fans in accordance with the Contract Documents.

1.3 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit manufacturer’s latest published data for dimensions, materials, accessories and
installation details.
B. Submit full technical rating data based on tests in accordance with current AMCA standards and
in an AMCA approved laboratory. Include manufacturer’s certified fan performances curves, and
certified sound power ratings. Correct all ratings and curves for altitude and temperature where
applicable.

1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE


A. Construct all fans, to comply with the requirements of the latest editions of the Air Moving and
Conditioning Association (AMCA) Standards and Bulletins. Certify these fans by AMCA for
performance and Construction Seal.
B. Submit full technical rating data based on tests in accordance with current AMCA standards and
in an AMCA approved laboratory. Include manufacturer’s certified fan performances curves, and
certified sound power ratings. Correct all ratings and curves for altitude and temperature where
applicable.

Part 2 Products

2.1 TOILET CASSETTE FANS

A. Provide fans that are quiet operating and non-overloading over the entire range of operation.
B. Fan – The toilet exhaust fan shall be of built-in cassette type, ceiling mounted, suitable for ducted
operation. Sizes and capacities are based on KDK models or approved equal. Brand and model
indicated herein is for the purpose of establishing product quality, capacities and dimensions.
Other brands satisfying the same shall likewise be accepted. Submit fan data for approval prior
to purchase and installation.
C. Capacities – The capacities of the units shall be as shown on the plans and drawings.
D. Motors and Drives – Motor shall be of the compact, moisture proof, duct proof, totally enclosed
condenser motor type with automated oil circulation systems for bearing lubrication.
E. Intake Grilles – The intake grilles shall be of the decorative perforated type and integral parts of
the units.
F. Ductworks – Shall be of PVC Series 500 schedule and shall be connected by flexible ducts with
helical reinforcing wires.
G. Dampers – Shall have integral backdraft dampers to prevent backflow of exhaust air and keep
rodents.
H. Control – The fan shall be controlled as shown on the engineering bid plans. The fan switch shall
be located ganged with the light switches.
