How to craft VIRAL auto-DMs

which generate 100s of leads in a


single tweet and helped my client
add $12,000 MRR in 3 weeks.
Auto-DMs are the holy grail of lead generation on Twitter.

But do not overdo them as they can hurt your audience growth.

I recommend 1 Auto-DM per week.

Rotate between 2-4 Lead Magnets:

- Notion SOP guide


- Loom Video Guide
- Sales Letter
- Full-blown out courses
- Combination of all of them

TOO MUCH VALUE

The trick to successful Auto-DMs is to pack a ton of value into a digestible


amount of content.

You don’t want to overwhelm your lead with a ton of information which they
probably won’t consume anyways.

The guideline I usually follow:

1 lead magnet, 1 pain point.

As long as the lead magnet addresses that pain point, it will probably go
viral.

Pack a ton of value into each Auto-DM to build trust with the audience.

If you consistently drop value bombs, they’ll come back every single week.
Here’s how I build out a Notion SOP guide (the most popular type of
giveaway)

It is built around teaching a new skill, or informing someone of a case study


of yours.

My method for building out an SOP guide:

1. Do your research

Look at how other people create their SOP guides.

What kind of content do they include?

What content are they missing?

What would you add?

2. Put your unique spin on it

Look at the problem other people have solved from a unique angle.

Is there something that you disagree with?

Have you seen an expert opinion elsewhere that can add onto what other
people’s guides have written?

3. Give INSANE value

Most people make the mistake of not putting enough value into their lead
magnet.

One of the main twitter lessons I have learned is that you need to teach the
WHAT and sell the HOW.

This will position you as an authority in whatever niche you are in and
clients are more likely to hire you.

So JAM PACK your notion guide with so much value that people wonder
what is in your paid stuff.
And they eventually become a buyer.

Like + Comment

I’ve split-tested the different requirements for Auto-DMs and found that
“Like+Comment” performs best.

Twitter favors posts with replies because that is where advertisements are
displayed.

Likes are also lower commitment than Retweets.

It just makes sense.

Capture Emails

Instead of sending people straight to the Lead Magnet, DM them a landing


page to capture their email.

This is the industry standard for lead magnets.


Make sure you provide enough value to make it worth it for them to give
you their email address.

You can use software like convertkit, carrd, and/or Beehiiv to do this.

I use Convertkit because you can disable the 2nd email opt-in so you can
get more subscribers on your list.

Go to convertkit -> landing page and forms -> on the form you want ->
settings-> incentive -> disable the checkbox.

Conversion rate of Likes to Email Subscribers should be around 50%.

CTA in your Auto-DMs


Maximize the value of each impression.

Use this opportunity to book a call with your prospect.

Qualify and add a calendly link.

You should be booking an average of 5 calls with a viral giveaway and a


clear CTA. Or at the very least you should start conversations and network
with everyone in the DMs.

This works especially well if you have a high-ticket offer.


When someone replies with the keyword, I start hitting them with scripted
questions to qualify them for a call.

So from this particular Auto-DM, we generated:

- Likes
- Replies
- Email Subs
- Newsletter Subs
- Leads for my/client’s Agency

Write a high-value hook

Every hook will address 1 pain point of your audience.

Book calls with your audience in advance to understand their pain points.

Ask them these questions:

1. What are you struggling with the most when it comes to {achieving
niche’s desired outcome}
2. What have you tried so far that hasn’t worked?
3. What are your goals with what you’re currently working on?
4. What have been some roadblocks you’ve faced when trying to
achieve this goal?
5. What’s been your biggest problem that you can’t solve?
6. In how long do you want this problem solved?
7. Any final questions that pertain to {achieving niche’s desired
outcome}? Anything I can help you with?

Their pain points can be used in order to craft an insane twitter hook for the
next few months.

You could also refer to other viral giveaways and take reference for what
has worked before and steal and adapt for your own.

Test until something lands

- Different Keywords
- Different CTAs
- Different Pain Points

Test until you finally get a lead magnet which goes viral, very rarely do
people get it on their first try.

But it is definitely worth it.

Find 4 main ones that have landed and cycle between them throughout the
month and you will get leads on autopilot I promise.
