Getting Started – Soft Token (SMS)
If logging in using SMS access please follow below steps. Step 3 Input the OTP in the field called Security Code in the login application,
and click on ‘Login’.
First Time User

Connecting to your Private Bank Online is easy. To register, you will


be asked to follow these steps:

Step 1 Go to the URL below:

Step 4 You will have to change this password immediately.

Step 2 Enter your chosen username and temp password, which are
provided in your Welcome Letter and click on ‘Login’. A One Time
Passcode (OTP) is sent to your primary phone number.

Step 5 You will now be asked to select and provide answers to two Existing Client
security questions to be answered in case you forget your password.
After you first login, you will need to access the URL below:

• Your chosen password will be used every time you log in Step 1 Enter your username and your password and client ‘Log In’.
• The password should be composed of at least 12 characters, including A One Time Passcode (OTP) is sent to your primary phone number.

Getting Started – Hard Token
If logging in using a Hard Token please follow below steps.

First Time User

Q: I am having trouble logging in. I did not receive the text message (SMS), what do I do?
a) Check network coverage
b) Reset phone’s antennas by enabling/disabling flight mode – wait for 5-10 minutes and retry login
c) If the above did not work, contact your Online Support Team on +353 1920 3040

Q: I like to change my password frequently for security purposes, how do I do this?


a) Once logged in click on the avatar icon at the top of the page and then change password.

Q: What do I do if I have forgotten my password and locked myself out of my account?


a) Enter username and click on forgot password;
b) If you have been set up with soft token (SMS) access only you will receive an SMS with a one time passcode allowing you to change your
password
c) If you have been set up with hard token access only you will need to switch on your hard token (green button) and hold the ‘Login’ button to
generate a code. Then enter that code in the corresponding ‘Security Code’ field ;
d) You will now be asked to answer two security questions;
e) If these are answered correctly you can proceed to changing your password once you receive your one time passcode via SMS;
f) If you are unable to reset your password you can call Online Support Team on +353 1920 3040 for assistance

Q: Where do I login to Barclays Private Bank Online banking?


Go to the URL https://privatebankonline.global.barclays

Q: My Barclays Private Bank Online hard token is not working, lost or stolen. How do I order a new one?
In order to order a new hard token contact your Online Support Team on +353 1920 3040 for a replacement hard token which we will endeavor to have
with you as soon as possible.

Q: What do I do if I lose my mobile or need to change my mobile number?


Please contact your Private Banker or the Online Support Team on +353 1920 3040 to update your details.

Total View
By selecting “Portfolio” under Wealth tab, you will have an overview of your Total Portfolio which contains your underlying account(s)
with Barclays;

A simplified navigation menu appears across the top of


the screen once logged in

This screen provides you with the following;


• A summary of all your account(s)
• Each portfolio relates to an underlying account(s)

Payments Overview

• This screen provides you with a historical


view of your payments regardless of
instigation method e.g. instruction sent to
Client Services Team or created on Barclays
Private Bank Online.
• You are able to approve multiple individual
payments.
• You can drill down into individual orders on
the payments overview screen e.g. to obtain
MT103.
• You can also see cancelled payments here.
• These transactions can also be exported to
PDF or CSV.

• New Payment screen is accessed from the payments tab and is used to make payments.
• Payment assistant can be used to select beneficiaries that have been paid previously – these are saved automatically by
the system and includes all required details to facilitate payments;

Q: What are the charges associated with using Barclays Private Bank Online banking particularly in relation to payment charges?

N.B. When making an International payment that is not in Euros the payment charge will be taken in the respective currency of which you are debiting.

Q: What if I am making a Cross-Currency Payment?


The payment charge will remain the same, however, the FX Conversion Charge will be in line with what was agreed with your Private Banker. This will
be displayed on the summary screen before you complete the transaction.

Q: What is Barclays Bank Ireland’s Bank Identifier Code (BIC) and is it the same as a SWIFT code?
Yes, SWIFT codes and BICs are the same. These are international bank codes that identify particular banks worldwide. Barclays Bank Ireland’s BIC is:

Q: What are the payments cut off times?


Payment cut off times are 15:00 for non exotic currencies.

Communication - Overview
The system includes a facility for secure messaging:

• The Mailbox is found within the


Communications tab. This is where you
can send and / or receive messages to
your Online Support Team.
• A notification will appear on the
communications tab when you receive
a new message.
• Please note the Online Support Team’s
mailbox is not monitored 24/7, for any
urgent queries please follow usual lines
of communication by calling them on
+353 1920 3040.
• Do not place instructions for payments
or place trades via this channel, please
contact your Private Banker in the
normal way.

Q: Should I send a message through my online banking if I have an urgent query/request?


Please note that your messages are monitored on a daily basis by our Client Services team however, if you have an urgent query it
is best to call the team directly or contact your Private Banker. Messages are not monitored 24/7

• You can download one at a time by clicking on the icon
or select multiple documents and click on download to
generate a PDF
• Once read/downloaded, a document is marked as read
• Statements can be selected on the following time
periods:
• 7 days
• 30 days
• 180 days
• Or User defined

Ad Hoc Statements are also available online:


• You can find this by hovering over the documents tab
and opting for ad hoc statement
• You can then filter what portfolio you would like to
retrieve the statement for, as well as what date range
you would like the statements to cover.

You can make this change directly from your Private Bank Online account.
In order to stop receiving statements and notifications by post, you need to take the following steps:

Mobile – IOS and Android Banking Service.

Only available to users with SMS authentication – Information only access


Mobile application activation
Connecting to your Mobile Application is easy. To use it, you will first
need to connect to the Online Banking Service.
Step 1 Go to https://privatebankonline.global.barclays/ and log in.

Step 2 Select ‘Preferences’ by clicking on the ‘Account Options’ icon


in the top menu bar. Step 5 Download the Mobile Application by looking for ‘Barclays Private
Bank’ in the App Store or in Google Play.

Step 6 Open the application and log in by


inserting your username and password.
Insert the One Time Passcode (‘OTP’)
received by SMS.
Step 3 Tick ‘Enabled’ next to mobile banking option and ‘Submit’
your request. Step 7 You are now connected !

Mobile – Help & Assistance

Q: I am trying to login to the mobile app. I am only set-up for hard token access. Why can’t I login?
a) The mobile app can only be logged onto if you have SMS or dual access logon
b) The mobile app cannot be logged onto with hard token access only
c) The mobile app is always disabled. This can be enabled when you logon to a desktop, selecting preferences on the account options icon on the
menu bar. Tick enabled and submit your request
d) You will now be able to access the mobile app with SMS or dual access logon only

Q: What features can I avail of on my app?


a) At present, checking your balance and reviewing your statements is the only functionality available on the app.

How to trade stock, bonds and ETFs
The Barclays Private Bank Online Banking platform also offers the trading functionality. You can trade online stocks on most of the leading stock
exchanges, as well as bonds, without the limitation of office opening hours. And you can also trade ETFs depending on specific regulations
described further below.
