About this role: Lead of Rotating Equipment

 Lead the implementation of high-level technical expertise in Rotating equipment engineering,


requiring analytical, interpretative and constructive thinking with a significant degree of evaluative
judgement, to ensure the highest level of engineering integrity and reliability, and safety and
environmental compliance;
 Oversee Rotating Equipment engineering during FEED phase and future EPC phase, in covering
all aspects of design to ensure technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and
schedule;
 Operating in a technical environment, it is expected to utilize expertise from OEMs to evaluate high
impact issues, as the project rotating equipment subject matter expert, present options and assist
management in making timely decisions to ensure project objectives are achieved within agreed
schedule and costs;
 This role conducts technical evaluations of FEED & EPC tenders, including risk-based evaluation
of complex technical issues, which may have a significant commercial impact on project execution,
ensuring they are compliant, technically qualified, and consistent with project requirements;
 Major challenges of this role are (1) identifying, developing and introducing best practices to drive
a common approach and strategy within project specifications (2) leading the complexities of a
multi-cultural, multi-national and multi-venture organization and (3) managing contractor’s
Mechanical Rotating Team and Package Engineers.

 Manage FEED/EPC Contractor's Rotating Engineering activities including validation of personnel


numbers, qualifications, and experience; usage of appropriate design tools, including computer
hardware and software; adherence with all project objectives, requirements, specifications,
standards, procedures, execution plans and design verification processes;
 Provide guidance to the FEED/EPC Contractors to complete the design as per project
specifications in a timely manner and provide clear direction when project instructions or
specifications are not clear;
 Lead rotating equipment design and coordination amongst other disciplines. Review and process
work activities discussing and determining priorities in conjunction with Engineering Manager and
other disciplines to ensure no delays to the project schedule;
 Interface with the Company Discipline Specialist and Project Management Team (PMT) to support
effective and timely decisions by conducting technical reviews of documents, and analyzing
deviations to ensure maximum compliance with the project scope with emphasis on safety &
reliability;
 Study high impact rotating equipment reliability issues, analyze the causes and provide
options/recommendations for resolution with technical and economic feasibility;
 Propose solutions by reviewing equipment and/or system design changes for reliability or
operational enhancements and optimization;
 Participate in RCFAs, Risk Assessments, and HAZOP workshops to find cause and eliminate or
mitigate the risks. Assist in specialized technical and operational investigations and evaluation of
complex tasks, providing recommendations on the most appropriate approach;
 Conduct machinery design audits, appraisal, selection and witnessing FAT, SAT, commissioning,
start-up activities and evaluating any deviations as required to meet project requirements;
 Provide technical reviews of the project mechanical rotating related engineering design
deliverables with respect to compliance to company and industry engineering standards,
procedures, and best practices;
 Act as Technical Authority in the mechanical rotating discipline, demonstrating sufficient expertise
to understand and communicate project critical issues;
 Support project quality improvement in Contractor’s Mechanical Engineering department by
leveraging experience, good engineering practices to ensure quality engineering design integrity
and execution.

What you need to bring:
 Minimum 10 years’ experience working in the field of rotating equipment for Concept/FEED/EPC
stage in the oil and gas industry with exposure to onshore gas processing facilities in the
greenfield and brownfield projects;
 Should have handled multi-megawatt Centrifugal compressors at a Lead engineer level. Should
have in-depth knowledge and understanding of rotating equipment including auxiliaries and
controls based on industry best practices;
 Should have the ability to introduce new concepts to ensure maximum reliability and availability of
all rotating equipment in the early design stage. CO2 sequestration Project experience is an added
advantage;
 Should have experience in leading the development of conceptual and detailed design, sizing &
selection, economics, and business cases for rotating equipment in particular for large duty
Centrifugal compressors;
 Excellent written and spoken English skills;
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
 Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
 Strong leadership and supervisory skills;
 Good organizational and facilitation skills;
 Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft office and technical applications.
