Course description
Course overview
In this course, students are going to be exposed to the target language through GTM
(Grammar Translation Method) approach, which mainly focuses on transferring their mother
tongue grammatical rules and lexical items into target language. For instances, students are
going to explore different parts of speech from smallest unit of clause to larger unit of
sentence, paragraph, essay or other piece of academic writing such as article, noun, pronoun,
verb, adjective and suchlike. After the smaller units of part of speech have been completed.
They are going to proceed to learn larger unit of parts of speech and explore tenses of the
target language. Students also get to develop reading and writing skills through various tasks
and different learning materials: dialogues-drills, grammar application, exercises and etc.
Objective
After students have finished this course students should be able to:
1) Make sense out of text-based media in the target language.
2) Construct a sentence using the knowledge of parts of speech.
3) Communicate through text-based media using variation of patterns.
